The Hotel Rural Victoria is a lovely old quiet place with very friendly staff in a beautiful bustling old town and is kept immaculately clean. The views from the roof terrace were a real bonus! We stayed on a half board basis and the food and service was exceptional - hats off to the chef Richard who never dissapoints. We particularly appreciated the staff's attentiveness with regards my wife's nut allergy - the chef would go out of his way to ensure that there were no problems, even providing special dishes on occasion.
The local Oratavian red wines were of a very high standard and provided at a very reasonable price. For whites from Tenerife choose from a Southern winery. However, Miguel's gin & tonic is legendary and should not be missed!
The hotel is small, intimate and very safe. It was a real bonus when we realised that we could view the door into our room from the restaurant and so could have a romantic meal by ourselves after dropping our 8 year old off to bed in the knowledge that he would be safe and secure!
We stayed for nine nights and would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel which provides the real Spanish experience and is as far from a resort hotel as you can get!

A real gem of a place - top marks.

Was in La Orotava end of November and stayed at the Hotel Rural Victoria for 3 nights and was very pleased with my choice. La Orotava is a very interesting and pleasant city. The hotel is small and very well kept: I had a big room that was much quieter than I expected, being right in the middle of town. Staff was very helpful and kind. The restaurant is just fantastic and I ended up eating there all three nights: everything was so good! The only, small, problem is to find a parking space for your car near the hotel: in a couple of occasions I had to turn around a few times before being able to park. Still, do not let be put off by this: go to La Orotava, to have a real feeling of Tenerife, and stay in the Hotel Rural Victoria!

If there is one restaurant you should go, it is the Hotel Rural Victoria restaurant! it is a restaurant that you will keep in mind for the rest of your life.

First of all, La Orotava is a lovely city (very different from the rest of the villages and cities). It is charming, they make great wine there, very clean and cosy, young inhabitants, lovely to walk and has nice historical buildings.

Secondly, the restaurant is situated in a lovely authentic location (you eat in a patio). You feel immediately at ease, there is a peaceful atmosphere, the service is more than excellent, the people are very friendly and warm-hearted. The quality of the food goes beyond expectations!

It is the best restaurant in Tenerife!

We stayed at Hotel Rural Victoria for one night but wished we had stayed at least one more night. La Orotava is an autentic old fashioned spanish town, with everything you will miss in the touristic zone in the southwest of Tenerife. It's steep so you will get quite good excercise walking up and down the streets. A little hard to find a place to park, but we found one five minutes away from the hotel after a while.

The hotel is very nice, the service great and the restaurant a must to try!! Great food and wine! We will gladly go back. The only drawback is the traffic passing by in the morning, ensuring an early wake up. However the room was charming and the view from the terrace outside was great.
