Just back from Laguna Park 1 for a hen weekend with 10 other girls 28 - 31 Jan (self catering). Was a bit worrried after some of the comments on here but for what we paid, we got a decent weekend away.
The rooms were very clean on arrival. The apartments with balconies facing the sea were smaller than the one I was in (pool facing) - but we had a massive balcony, roomy lounge (2 sofas) with separate bedroom and kitchen. The was access to the balcony from both the lounge and the bedroom and the balcony easily sat 11 people (all chairs, sofas and table were out there!)
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The pool area was clean too but it wasn't quite warm enough for me to get in the pool.
The apartments are a short walk to the beach / harbour and have plenty of pubs and restaurants close by if you don't fancy straying too far.
Las Americas is €5-6 in a taxi although one taxi driver did charge €12 after circling the block a few times! Get a price before if you are that bothered about losing a couple of quid.
We were the youngest (30-35ish) in the hotel at this time of year, and I think the resort, but everyone we met was really friendly and welcoming.
If you are looking for 4* all inclusive with Concierge then you might be a bit disappointed (as most reviewers on here seem to be). If you want a nice, cheap, clean break in a resort with 20 - 23 degrees of heat in January then this might be for you.

Went to the Laguna Park 1 for a cheap week in the sun. All I can say is if you want 5 star then dig deeper into your pocket and go somewhere else. Staff were pleasant, towels were changed every other day and bed linen twice in the week we stayed. They were in the process of painting the exterior of the buildings, which will make it look better. It is in need of modernisation and my main gripe was that the maids need to sweep the apartment floors which weren't done all the time we were there, even though they changed towels and bed linen.

went to the laguna park 1 in January for my daughters 21st, only went because other family members had already booked. There apt was lovely, massive living/dining area seperate kitchen and bedroom, patio doors leading from both living and bedroom areas, balcony overlooking pool and sea....well our apt was more like a studio dark and dingy, bedroom then kitchen/liiving room/sons bedroom, tiny cramped and full of ants all over the kitchen surfaces, patio table had seen better days, i would have been embarassed to take it to a dump, filthy and full of holes..yuk...so can emagine didnt really want to eat there or anywhere in that apt. Even around the pool was run down, never once did i get a sunlounger that wasnt broken. I dont think im that fussy but as long as somewhere is clean and this was not. I suppose you get what you pay for, definelty should not have three stars..maybe one at a push. Wouldnt go back even if it was free.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 weeks in Jan 2012 self cattering.The rooms are dated but clean.The kitchens are very basic with no cooking utensils. The maids were excellent clean towels every day and beds changed twice a week.The complex is very clean with plenty of sunbeds and a large pool.The hotel is situated 15 mins from beach and only 2 mins from restraunts and bars.We go to Tenerife every year and always go self cattering as it is so cheap to eat out.DO NOT go to Tenerife all inclusive and be tied to one hotel Resturants and Bars are SO cheap beer is 1-2 euro a pint and steaks can be had for 5 euros.The hotel has shows on most nights The shows NOT to miss are Mister Sister and Fantasia they are excellent.We will stay at Luguna Park again.
