Booked this holiday in a 1 bed apartment 10 months prior to arrival in Feb 2011. Received phone call from the complex 2 weeks before departure to say we could not stay there as "300 apartments were being refurbished". We were offered alternative accomodation in an inferior resort, Playa de Las Americas, which I refused. After several phone calls and emails I eventually received verbal and email confirmation from the Marketing Director that we could definiteley stay at Los Olivos (their adjacent, sister complex). On arrival, this was not so and we were shunted off to an inferior complex 30 minutes away in Las Americas in a studio apartment, which looked out at a huge white wall 6 yards from the balcony, for the first 4 days. After 4 days we had another difficult battle to ensure that we finally got a 1 bed apartment in Los Olivos (facilities are shared with Lagos de Fanabe). Each Tue and Fri (main arrival days from UK) the Reception had a long queue of disgruntled arrivals with similar problems, most of whom were shunted off to other, inferior accomodation. Their statement about mass refurbishment was patently untrue and staff finally admitted that they were 30% overbooked in February. Quite nice accomodation - reasonably good quality fittings which had seen better days and needed refurbishment and very good location by the beach and bars, restaurants etc. Unfortunately, their booking systems are incompetent and no sympathy is shown to customers when trying to resolve their errors. Be very wary of booking at either of these sister complexes until their systems are radically improved or until the management is changed.
