Enjoyed our stay, the hotel was average, but the location was excellent!! A short walk to the beach, bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had heard from people about the A block "the dungeons" but we were lucky as we had a room in E block on pool level. Went self catering so cant comment on the food myself but heard it was ok. The pool area was lovely and sun loungers were plentiful. Only a few English guests whilst we were there, mainly spanish and dutch guests, wasnt a problem for us as the children made lots of friends with the spanish children. The day time activities were ok, aqua arobics and water polo. The evening shows 5 nights a week were varied and entertaining. One down side, there were lots ants in the apartment and the occassional cockroach also made an appearence, reported it to reception 5 times before it was dealt with. Maid service was most days. Has no air con in rooms but does have ceiling fans which helped at night as it was so hot. We hired a air con unit £75 for 2 weeks but couldnt leave it on all night as its so humid there it needed emptying after a few hours.
HOTEL TIP: Try to book a private apartment here, we paid £490 per week for our one bedroom apartment with a travel agent thinking that was a good price, then found out whilst there that people had booked private rentals for only £300 per week for a one bedroom apartment. Also it seems the private rentals are fully equipped with kettle, toaster, microwave, freezer and the views are free, where as the hotel charge you 10 euros each for these "additional items" AND also charge 10 euros per night for a sea or pool view.
THE RESORT: Theres lots to do in the resort and entertainment is available all along the promenade, try the Garden Bar and Deep Blue on the sea front for some good hospitality and nice food. It costs just under 8 euros for a three course meal at Deep Blue. Generally around the resort the beer is 1 euro but they charge 2 to 3 euros for soft drinks. Siam Park is a must, the tidal wave pool is amazing we paid 29 euros per adult and 19 per child not bad for a great day out, once inside head straight to the beach and grab a sun lounger and parosol before heading to the rides. The Catamaran was a good trip, half a day at sea watching dolphins and whales with lunch included. Think we would return but it would definately be a private rental apartment next time.
Room Tip: Try to book directly one of the privately owned apartments as they are better equipped and can be...
