Went with my husband for relaxing week. Arrived at the hotel after nearly two hours on the bus from airport. Would definitely get a taxi next time. On the return trip there was lots of hanging about at other hotels waiting for people. I think many didn't realise they had to contact the transport people to confirm the actual pick up time as it only shows an approximate time on the paperwork.
Check in staff on reception were helpful and polite. We were allocated our junior suite quickly and we unpacked and went for dinner. The junior suite had a lovely sea view. Staff in the dining room work very hard and are to be well commended. The food was varied and always something that we could eat. Take an early dinner if you want the food to be hotter. There were usually canarian potatoes and pasta if you wanted a change frm chips. The hotel seemed quite busy and the dining room doesn't seem big enough to cater for a full hotel.
The only food we had from the snacks menu between meals was a cheese and tomato toastie. So can't comment otherwise. The drinks were adequate, although after initially being open, the pool bar seemed shut most nights and drinks had to be got from the Irish bar.
The animation team seemed to put on a good show for children but there did not seem to be much in the way of entertainment for adults.
The pool area looked good and was cleaned every day but many of the sunbeds had broken back pieces so you could not sit up on them. Not many used the pool I would imagine due to it not being heated.
We tended to sunbathe in the area beside the apartments at the back of the hotel which was quieter. Luckily that pool bar was open during the day so we didn't have to trek to the other bars for drinks.
The junior suites seemed on first glance to be fine until one day I put a light on over the sink area and saw tiny insects. I didn't see any cockroaches during my stay. There are a lot of steps but to be fair for older or infirm people there are lifts.
The maid service seemed fine and with clean towels, beds changed and made up every day except Sunday, maids day off. I can't comment on dirty floors as I always take slippers to wear in the rooms. But the sinks did not appear to have been cleaned during our stay. There were plenty of toilet rolls and towels.
I agree with one of the previous reviewers - take a pack of cards or something to entertain yourselves with. I read four books during my week's stay. On the Saturday night there was no sleep to be had as the local teenagers parked outside the hotel in a side street and played loud music and shouted at each other all night till 5 a.m.
We don't like going out of the hotel at night so we were a bit bored and ended up going to bed early most nights. Most other guests were German, Dutch or Italian. Not many English.
Overall, we had a pleasant week but not sure I would return unless a few things were changed.
Although I took a credit card I didn't use it. Heard from credit card fraud services today that my card number had been used for purchases in America. In future I will definitely make sure my cards never leave my person. Have been to Tenerife many times and holiday abroad twice a year and this has never happened to me before. Sad to say, but, goodbye Tenerife!!!
