I picked this hostel out of a list, based on my ignorance. When I arrived in Tarifa, I took a cab to the hostel. However, the cab was only able to get me to the general area (as this hostel is in an older part of the city that only has a walking path next to it).

This place reminded me of what I envisioned Europe to be like -- small, cobble-stoned-lined roads, stucco walls, small bathroom, twin-sized bed. I stayed two nights there. The breakfast was good. The internet was only existent on the first floor. The staff was really nice.

Stayed in this small hotel for a night. It doesn’t have aircon but that wasn’t much of a problem as the room didn’t get overly hot, and the temperatures was around 40C during the day.

Location is down a cobble street, near bars and restaurants, so if a light sleeper can be slightly noisy although didn’t cause us a problem.

Rooms are quite small, and have an Arabian type feel to them, but are clean and comfortable for a night. Bathroom is again small but was clean enough.

The hotel has tables in the street where you can have a drink before heading out for the evening.

There isn’t any car parking, so if you are travelling by car, it can take some time to find a parking spot. Tip is if you find somewhere park up then find the hotel, as you will be lucky to get anywhere close to the hotel although Tarifa is small so you won’t have far to walk.

Tarifa is quite a small place, with cobbled streets and is quite quaint and bohemian, however one day/night was enough to explore and then move on.

Would recommend the hotel as a short stay.

This was by far the most expensive hotel I stayed in during my 6 weeks in Spain and definitely the worst in regards to value for money. At 115 euro a night for single you get - a musty smelling room, hairs on the bedspread, tiny bathroom, thinning towels, average breakfast and no hot water - initially wasn't turned on in my room (had to go and ask), then after waiting for it to heat up gave up and had a cold shower after 30 min because I had to get going ... I also found the staff not very welcoming or friendly ...
I thought that it would at least have a little bit of character as I was staying in the old town but I also found that lacking ... I booked it for the location - but really, tarifa is so small it doesn't matter where you stay ... So stay somewhere else ...

We lost a night's deposit but couldn't stay. The rooms were not air conditioned and very shabby. I could have got past that but the bathroom put me over the edge. We grabbed our bags and walked around town until we found something better.
