Hotel itself was lovely... beautiful gardens, nice rooms, value for money as booked through booking.com... HOWEVER... spending the day in the garden with friends, there was no table service, even to the point where we ordered food and were beckoned over by the 'waitress' to collect it ourselves, whilst two members of staff stood behind the bar, talking. Also had to remove plates from out table and take back to the bar. Fine, if this was a self-service cafeteria, or motorway service station.... Then the sprinkler system came on in the garden area. At half past two in the afternoon, soaking our drinks, our cameras, phones etc... no apology from the staff at all. Infact they didnt even ask if everything was ok... it took one of our group to hunt down the manager, who shrugged and sad they would 'do something' ... she gave us a round of drinks, which i suppose was nice. BUT the final straw came the next day at breakfast... maggots falling from the ceiling of the breakfast area, into the coffee machine and all over the cups... maggots in the coffee grinder bit... maggots on the saucers... need I say more? Rude, obnoxious staff who couldnt care less and an eating area riddled with maggots... no thanks...
