We have just returned from a long weekend here - first time for me, second for my partner and could not have been happier.
First impressions interesting artworks, objet d'art and furnishings and fabrics.
The welcome from the team behind the desk had started long before our arrival, as upon speaking to Margaret to book, she was able to help and sort everything we required with advice on parking, taxis, etc. The welcome from Hose when we arrived was equally warm and this continued throughout the whole staff for the whole weekend.
We were show to the Burriana Suite which consists of a large bedroom. spacious shower-room, a cosy salon and a lovely terrace overlooking the swimming pool, garden and the med. Our only comment on the room would be that it was quite a warm weekend in October and the air-con whilst keeping the salon cool was not able to help much in the bedroom, but the overhead fan provided some relief. Maybe aircon in the bedroom and fans in the salons would be a better way to go.
The breakfast each day was simple but delicious and consisted of a wide range of breads and pastries, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, with a nod to the english fry-up with fried eggs bacon and tomatoes if required. This was self service with tea, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice delivered to the table with a broad Spanish smile by one of the hardworking waitresses.
Early evening drinks were served either in the garden or in the small cocktail/tapas bar at the front of the hotel, the measures of gin were as large as the exuberant welcome from the waiter.
All in all a great little hotel for couples, and although centrally located, just far enough off the beaten track to be quiet, peaceful and private.
Seems always to be busy, so book early to avoid disappointment!
