“Basic but great”

You get what you pay for. Essentailly a well placed block of basic apartments which are well equipped for a self catering holiday where you'll be mainly eating out. We travelled with our 1 year old and asked for a travel cot to be provided which it was free of charge along with bedding too. We booked an apartment with a balcony thinking we would be able to store the buggy on the balcony if there was no other space but we needn't have bothered because the apartment was easi;y big engh with a choice of parking spots and also plenty room for the large travel cot to be placed in our bedroom. Plenty bedroom storage and plenty storage space in the kitchen too although just a ceramic hob and a microwave but we were only making tea or warming a bottle.
The apartment block is well placed in Nerja with plenty bars and eating places and supermarkets on its door step and the well serviced Torecilla beach 5 minutes stroll way.
Staff were healpful and pleasant and it made a difference having a reception desk

“Excellent Value for Money”

Paid about £120 for flights and accommodation online so wasnt expecting much. BUT the hotel was well placed for beach, nightlife, food, markets and public transport to other resorts and tourist spots. Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were basic but clean. I loved nerja, relaxing, cheap and friendly. dont bother getting a taxi from the airport, too expensive at ninety euros just get the bus, the drivers are helpful and efficient for about three euros instead. going back this year same hotel because its unbelievable value.

“relaxing”

me, 19 and my boyfriend 10, we choose this place to stay as a break away from the cold and to relax. we have not long returned from Apartamentos Mediterraneo, after reading the reviews before going i was bit worried but arriving at the apartments, we were welcomed by staff and found the apartments clean. There was no noise in the accommodation at night. the weather was not to good but still warm just rainy. all the locals were friendly. as it was December there was not much going on but we would definitely return in the summer as there were plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and would be grand if it had the right weather. the hotel was clean friendly and staff were very helpful with helping us book transfers, directions and day trips. lovely stay.

“we could not believe it”

We paid in November 2010 200 € for the studio for 2 weeks without food. A higher price also seems to be totally out another date. We recommend self-cleaning on arrival and a light bulb, as the rooms are lit entirely inadequate. For arrivals against 17 clock no staff at the hotel and we had to call an expensive Spanish number was to call someone. Personal greeting at the reception not even if the guest does so first. So who really want to try it - take ear plugs, light bulb, multiple plugs, cleaning supplies, money for toilet paper :-). Room with 9 are at the end of the smallest and have the worst situation - best avoided.

“You get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2010

I stayed at the Mediterraneo Apartments with my partner and another couple, we are all 20 or 21 and although we wanted a bit of nightlife as we were there as couples, were not looking for a major clubbing experience!
The apartments themselves are conviniently placed, right near the beaches, with a corner shop 1 minute walk away, and a supermarket about 10 minutes away. There are also good number of resturants around, and it's not far at all to the nearest square which is quite lively at night. There were the odd bars, our favourite being the Malibu on the way to the main square, but it wasn't the liveliest of places. It was easy though to have a good meal and a drink with very little money, it was only 20 euro for four of us to have a full english in the resturants set back from the beach, this included two beers.
Because we were on a budget we were hoping to have drinks at the apartments some nights. Although this was ok untill midnight, anytime after that we were told to be quiet after laughing or generally having too heated a conversation. This might be ok if you like an early night on holiday, but it got quite tedious for us. The staff in general to be honest were not particularly helpful and could speak very little english hence the one point for service, I don't think we actually recieved any at all!
My partner and I were lucky in that we had one of the biggest apartments in the hotel, as we could see from the fire escape map. Our friends, however, were not so lucky and to be honest, i think you would really struggle to cook a meal in the kitchen they were provided with. It would serve you well if you only intended to eat out in the evening and just wanted a fridge to store breakfast in. The cleanliness was my bggest issue. I couldn't say it was filthy but there was a general grubiness, and some of the fixtures were broken. I don't think our friends was as bad but it defnately wasn't ideal.
I also feel i need to add something about the pool, it was more of a pond and it didn't get any sunlight after about midday. Also the staff had a habit of hanging around at the tables outside which would put me off swimming there personally. It didn't prove a problem for us because we went to the beach everyday but if you were going there thinking of laying around a pool during the day it just wouldn't work.
Despite the negatives we still had a good holiday because the only thing we were concerned with was the location, which was great. It serves well as somewhere to sleep and at the prices we paid that is all that can be expected. I don't, however, feel I could reccomend it because there were so many areas that weren't up to scratch.
