“Loving the views!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Spent two weeks at the Nerja Club, one very noisy first night in room 219 ( which was above the bar ) but reception were only too happy to move us, and we spent the rest of the holiday in a much larger, much quieter room with fantastic views towards the sea, in addition to it being South facing. The only downside for us, being vegetarian, was a lack of choice on some evenings. Last year at the Villa Flamenca, the choice was greater and more varied, but you can't have everything.....The refurbished rooms were excellently decorated, and the bathroom was second to none with continual hot water, and a shower to die for!!! The communal areas were always spotless, as was the pool and spa. Having been to Nerja many times, we knew how far from town we were, and where to go...'Anahi' by the Balcon de Europa serves the best tea and coffee in town, with smily staff, reflected in the fact that they were always busy.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea or pool view, and a high floor to avoid the noise!!

“Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Booked as a special deal exceptional value for money. Good location, clean, comfortable refurbished rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was adequate, small selection but always hot and tasty. Drink prices good in bar and restaurant. Entertainment every evening is OK but is unavoidable unless you go out, but in winter you may not want to venture far. Soundproofing in rooms is non existent. Unfortunately behind hotel is a villa with two noisy barking dogs throughout the day - made sitting on our balcony extremely unpleasant -which is a shame as the views were good. All in all for what we paid we are not complaining, however would not have been too happy if full price paid.

“Nerja Club - 2011”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed for 2 weeks here in Sept 2011and enjoyed it immensely. Would have loved to go full board but, as we like to eat out each night and loved the buzz of Nerja centre (which is a steep uphill walk back and about 25 mins), we missed most of the entertainment in the hotel which seemed to be much better than the average. Hotel was clean, rooms in good condition, staff friendly and most obliging. Hope to be back there again.

“Take earplugs with you!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This is a very friendly hotel set on the outskirts of Nerja, ideal if you like walking and getting out and about. The rooms are clean and tidy, as are the public areas. Food is good and the choice is adequate, although I think a week is enough as it was starting to get a little repetitive by the end of our week. Staff are friendly and obliging. However, a point to note is that the soundproofing in the rooms is non-existent. You can hear everything from the next room including people using the toilet - not pleasant. In the evenings the entertainment is extremely loud and there is no getting away from it so if you want quiet, restful evenings then this is not the hotel for you. We were also woken early every day by the wake up phone calls to other rooms!! We booked this holiday as a late deal and were happy with the value for money we received, but we would not use this hotel again because of the noise issues. We would say that this hotel is 3 star but nothing more, and if you want more refinements then perhaps look at the other hotels in Nerja, as we will do. Nerja itself is a charming town with lots to explore and well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Having spoken to other guests it seems that asking for a quiet room is futile as they all suffer noi...

“great hotel, great food, great bargain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

we were at the nerja club for a week half board from the 22/01/2012
we booked 2 days previous, but because friends were going there we went to surprise them. we normally books all inclusive, however this time we were half board, that was the biggest mistake we made, the food we ate was fantastic, a great selection every night, and a breakfast that filled you all day. the barstaff/waiters/waitresses/reception etc were first class.
if there was a small small negative it was our room, it was very small, and cold, but the aircon/heater sorted that out. but it never got any sun, but our friends rooms were bathed in sunshine and much bigger so go for one of those. we also noticed the tele didnt work, but we didnt care so said nothing, however im 100% sure if we had it would of been fixed straight away..also some tea/coffee facilitys would of been nice, but thats a nit pick lol.
if you want a small hotel, with fantastic food, but you are on a budget, choose this one!!!
3*??, this could be 4 or 5 easy, we have stayed in bigger so called better hotels and this beat them hands down bar 1 or 2

Room Tip: go for a pool view, sunshine all day, but rooms at front of hotel, although more recently renovated...
