We stayed in this hotel in October great location in the town rooms very clean and staff very helpful. The breakfast was poor but the view from the breakfast room was stunning. Overall it is a nice hotel but not worth the money.

We started our honeymoon here at the Balcon de Europa. We had the big bridal suite, which was wonderful. The decor was only so-so, a bit outdated, but the highlights were being situated at the end of the hall (more privacy); the lovely view over the Mediterranean, waves crashing beneath us all day and night and quite the view of the sunrise; and a massage chair near the little balcony. The daily breakfast was very good, lots of choices, and sitting on the patio over the ocean was heavenly. All in all, we enjoyed our 3 night stay here and would recommend it and Nerja for a peaceful introduction to the Spanish lifestyle.

So,so, glad we chose the Balcon de Europa hotel, we had a great long weekend here. The views from the bar and the breakfast room are truly spectacular, the sea was by turn dramatic, calm and beautiful - by far the best location.

The sea-view bedrooms are again really good, although our room was a side sea view it was still great, in fact the mountains could be seen too. if you want a sea-facing view you need to request a 'frontal' view... Same price. The bedrooms were very nicely decorated, with central heating that you could adjust yourself so that was a plus; sometimes hotel heating can be far too hot. The bed we had was two huge twin beds pushed together, but you can request a double if you want it.

Car-parking was €11 per night, having paid €20 in Granada I thought this was a good price- all hotels charge foe parking here.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, the food was really good and varied, from tipical spanish jamon y tomate, to eggs and bacon, you could easily find something to suit everyone here. And with free cava too!!!

The bar has a happy hour everyday fro 17.30-18.30, a beer or a glass of wine is only €1!!!

Try La Dama restaurant for good Italian food...and SO CHEAP... the best gambas pil-pil, and lasagne for only €4 each! Loverly people, great food and wine at €1 a glass!!

All in all I can highly recommend the Balcon, will definitely be returning - well done too all the staff, atentative friendly and efficient. The only thing we didn't get was if you put your own drinks in the fridge they say that they charge you an additional €2.20 per day, also for using the mini-bar it costs €1.90 per day... However for some reason they didn't charge us for this... But if they had I wouldn't have been singing it's praises quite so highly.

A good hotel, a sea view room is a must, esp on a the higher floors. Clean and well maintained, with reasonably attentive staff (usually) this hotel has good facilities and a tiny private beach. Beautifully situated, next to the Balcon de Europa, it is convenient for the many little shops and restaurants in the vicinity, and a good base from which to explore the area.
