I had a brief (one night) but wonderful stay at this excellent hotel.
The imposing but at the same time charming lobby gives an ambience of restrained style and old fashioned elegance.
My room and bathroom was just as it should be: comfortable, quiet, clean, spacious, tastefully decorated and with no noise or other hassel from the air-conditioning/heating system. That's how I like it.
As I was leaving early, I took breakfast in the lobby at one of the bar tables, served without fuss by the very capable and polite bar tender.
My colleague - a wheelchair user - was also very satisfied with his room.
Another time I would like to get to know the place better but on this short trip everything was perfect.

The hotel looks good inside and I had a very comfortable room which I found excellent value for money. The hotel personnel were quite professional and helpful. The hotel is a good walk away from the centre of Jaen and it has a underground parking (which is not included in the price). The breakfast buffet was quite externsice for Spanish standards.
I did not have a laptop and used the Internet terminal in the lobby, which worked fine.
Only negative remarks: no international TV channels, and the music in the corridor can be heard inside the rooms and can be slightly annoying.

This place was quite a pleasant surprise. It may not look like much from the outside, but the interior is actually cavernous, complete with glass lift, and we were given a huge and very comfortable room. The service was very courteous indeed and the Spanish breakfast provided a good start to the day.

For the low price I think it fair to say we were expecting something far less agreeable (we were really just passing through). All in all this is a very good option in Jaen unless you are trying to impress someone/want to splurge by staying at the Parador on the hill. That is your decision.

We stayed here for a conference in July of 2007. It was a good, comfortable hotel not directly in the city center but a long walk or a short bus ride away. It had very easy access to the highways, but was quiet and near the University, which is a nice little neighborhood with many options for eating and drinking. It's also close to the bus and train stations.

The staff aren't always incredibly helpful, but it has a parking garage (for an extra fee), and free internet access. The pool is a great place to cool off on hot days, but don't even bother looking at the exercise room. It consisted of a broken treadmill, 1 broken and 1 sort of working exercise bike, and a universal machine, and it was part of the hot parking garage--no real ventilation. It's a bit pricey, but it is very comfortable and convenient. The hairdryers didn't really work either, but the rooms are a good size, clean and the air conditioning works!
