Rooms need updating which is a shame as the entrance lobby is fabulous! Breakfast was basic but sufficient and good value for money. Staff were helpful but a little impersonal.

This hotel is great value for money!The staff are polite and helpful.We speak Spanish so language not a problem for us.The rooms are spacious with very large bed T.V etc.The air conditioning worked very well too!The bathroom is well equipped,and very clean.We stayed for 2 nights, and the room was cleaned, towels replenished etc.The buffet breakfast is typical spanish fare, with unlimited fresh coffee, and you could eat all you wanted.If you prefer an English style breakfast then it may not be for you!The cental plaza can be noisy late into the night, this is vey typical of spanish life.In the winter month's it will be much quieter.We liked the central bustling location, but don't choose this hotel if you want peace and tranquility.You can park your car near the hotel at a special rate of 10.90 euros a day.There is no public or free parking,due to the cental location.The hotel is ideal for exploring the city on foot, it was nice to leave the car where it was!Try to take advantage of the free spa treatment included in your room price.It was a lovely luxury treat.The spa staff were friendly and helpful,guiding you around each treatment.You will need a swim suit, sandals and towel,and swimming cap for the pool.If you don't want to carry this with you, then it can be provided for a small cost.The hotel has a lovely roof terrace open 24 hours a day.This has tables and chairs, and sunbeds.It is lovely to sit there at night and enjoy the views.

I'd read in some of the reviews that I shouldn't expect too much from this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think it's been renovated recently and everything was clean and new-looking. The room was fine and had a view of the square outside, although it got quite noisy at night, which is normal for a Friday night, I imagine.
The choice of things to eat at breakfast was basic compared to other hotels, but even so, the selection was adequate.
Although they don't have a car park, they have a deal with an underground car park just round the corner. If you book through the hotel on arrival it costs 7,50€ instead of paying 18€ at the car park itself.
If I was going back to Jaén, I'd probably stay here again because of it's excellent location, right in the centre of the town.

I stayed here in March of 2006 and it was perfect for our needs (two 20 somethings traveling Europe). It is nothing fancy but it was clean, had a good breakfast included, always hot water, and the front desk staff spoke a little English which was nice. The walls are very thin and I believe they were in the process of doing some remodelling at the time, but the noise was never bothersome. Nice location too. I would stay here again. Sorry this is not very detailed but it's been a while now since I've been there and we stayed in a lot of hotels!
