Having stayed here 4 times now we know what to expect. This is a Spanish run appartment hotel, the reception staff do speak some English, but it's not that hard to learn a little Spanish is it? The first impressions of the Veramar is that it could do with brightening up, however what do you expect when you've paid £140 for a week including the flight (easyjet). The Veramar is a great base for singles/couples on a budget and it suis our needs perfectly. The pool is fiine and gets the sun most of the day. The hotel is 5 mins walk to the beach or town and has 2 bars, a couple of restaurants and a small supermarket. practically outside. The kichenette in the room was basic but was good enough to make breakfasts and eat in one night. I would take some earplugs with you as the walls are thin and be prepared for the hard beds! Do not stay here if you expect all mod cons and entertainment and things to do for the kids.

I stayed with a friend at the Veramar for a week on a relaxing girls holiday. Though the hotel is certainly not luxury it is adequate enough for people looking for a base from which to explore, or are on a tight budget. What we noticed is that there was a mix between British and Spanish holiday makers and the whole atmosphere was relaxed. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very clean and in pretty good condition. There were a couple of issues, the fridge didnt get very cold and the shower head did not stay attached to the wall: the jet being so strong it would shot off in all directions! And be warned: if you like your air conditioning this is not the palce for you! The rooms do not have fans or air con though you can hire air con units for 50 euros per week (to be honest we got used to the heat in the end). Oh, and it is a pet friendly hotel so expect to see one or two furry friends!

The pool area is small but perfectly formed, if not a little noisy as the road runs along side the wall bordering the pool. But plug your head phones into your mp3 and you dont notice it. As for the sunlounger issues, very few people seemed to bother getting up early put the towels out. In fact most mornings no one had risen before 9am anyway! The best place for sunbathing is on the small terrace rather than the grass as this gets the sun for most of the day.

Location wise the hotel is perfect for people who dont mind a short walk to the beach and shops (10 mins stroll). There is a supermarket round the corner and an internet cafe and bakery opposite. Just make sure you head left once you find your way to the promenade (at supermarket cross the road, past the torso statue and straight on), theres very little on the right.

Just got back from a 5 day stay at the Veramar. Hotel a bit dated
but in a very good position for everything you are likely to need during your stay. The staff were very helpful in sorting out a problem with airport transfer. Did everything they could to help and got a result.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and they cleaned the pool area every night and washed down the sunbeds.
Across the road to the side of the hotel is a bar called Tipi Tapas.
Excellent place for food and drink. Hotel served food but never
had any there although a lot of people did.
Would recomend for short stay only as there is no air con. 40deg
when we were there so you needed it.

Hotel was clean and basic which is exactly what u'd expect for the money. Maid service came round every other day. They offer a breakfast for 5 euros it is as much as u can eat but it tasted pretty terrible! My only other complaint was the bed it was the most uncomfartable bed ever! Overall the hotel is in a good location 5 mins from the beach, 5 mins from town and 10 mins from the train station! I would recomend the hotel if u want a base but not to sit round the pool all day its busy and small. the hotel bar was good as there was no annoying entertainment going on!!
