“Great hotel - winter break”

My wife and I stayed at the Yaramar, January 2012. It lies in the Los Boliches area of Fuengirola. The holiday was a package with Thomson, they sell this holiday as Thomson Gold. Can't argue with that. Very good all round. We had a superior room on the 12th floor. These rooms are on a corner of the hotel, the balconies being on the corner, give excellent views. The room had a complete glass wall to seawards, you can in theory, lay in bed and watch the sun come up over the sea! Don't worry about privacy, there are adequate full length curtains! The room standard was I reckon, 4 star plus. The food.... there was always a good selection and the staff were very good. Entertainment was good, Thomson have their team, Neil, Joe, Dolly and Jill (or Gill). They were good, Andrew Lloyd Webber ought to have a listen!
Most enjoyable holiday. Tip: If you want a Sunday roast, which actually tastes like home cooking, two streets back from hotel (less than 5mins walk) go to the Kon Tiki. At lunchtimes, visit the Marina, sit and watch the boats, enjoy a snack etc at Welcome Arms or the Caribean Mermaid!

Room Tip: Pay the extra and get a superior room, you get the best views!

“Wonderful staff and Thompson reps.”

Had a week over new year. A super new years eve gala dinner with drinks, goody bag, entertainment and lovely dining room staff. The whole week, all staff were very friendly and helpful ( as good as those in the Coronas Playas if you have been there), the entertainment was mostly good ( especially as it was out of the main season), the buffet food excellent and the hotel well geared up to provide a good holiday for the more mature guest.

“Well Done Yaramar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Stayed at the Yaramar over the Xmas period with my husband and mother, a decision that proved to be a good one. I booked direct with the hotel and flew with Monarch. Our rooms were on the 15th floor so had wonderful views and of course we were nearer to the sun!! The weather was excellent for the time of year and provided a very welcome bonus we could walk out in shorts/teeshirts down the prom but it was a tad cooler in the back streets.
On arrival the very efficient, friendly staff checked us in and took our cases to the rooms, we had a room next to my mother so we could assist if required, the rooms were clean and roomy. the fridge and safe was included in the price.
The food was plentiful and varied and the staff efficient/helpful, no dishes were left on the table for long and tables were always available so no long waits to be seated. The Xmas dinner gala was a bonus, the tables were arranged to seat 8 people which meant that those people who travelled alone were not sat alone. The dinner was served quickly and consisted of about 4 courses, my favourite was the salmon course, it was done to perfection. We were provided with party hats etc.....and a singing duo one of whom did a tongue in cheek Elvis impersonation!!! It was all good fun. Lots of people on the dance floor and all seemed to have a good time. On boxing day the staff arranged a get together with food, dancing, singing again all good fun. I have to say that the staff ensured that we all got a good service and joined in the festivities with enthusiasm, we all got a small gift on boxing day so well done Yaramar, we certainly enjoyed our stay. The good thing about being here for Xmas is that you can join in our not depending on your preference and stil have a ball.
There were lots of cafes etc...... open over the Xmas period which again was a bonus as you could get out and about and enjoy a coffee/tea/beer/lunch outside watching the world go by. We frequented a new cafe called PASEO DEL MAR which is to your right out of the hotel and just 2 down from the Chinese cafe, they do lovely coffee and tasty snacks and the staff are helpful and friendly also the prices are very reasonable. There are other cafes to try on the coast road and in the streets to the rear of the hotel. We had lunch at the SUAVE cafe which is to the left of the hotel and quite a walk down, again the food is very good as is the coffee and the staff are helpful and friendly.
In sum we travel to this area frequently and have stayed at the Yaramar previously but have never gone away for Xmas. however after our very positive experience at the yaramar we will most certainly return for future Xmas breaks. I have to say that I thought it would be very expensive to stay at a hotel for Xmas but how wrong could I be, this break was reasonably priced and at the Yaramar we certainly got a lot for our money.
Must comment on the entertainment, it was varied but I would suggest that flitting between the Yaramar and Angela will provide you with a more varied programme/choices. I would stress that the ages of the people at the hotel was varied and all seemed to mix and enjoy.
We will be back!!!!!!..............

Room Tip: Higher floors provide much better views

“A GOOD HOLIDAY HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We have just stayed at the Yaramar and found it to be a great holiday hotel. The location is perfect, on the seafront just across the road from the beach, rooms on the front have a sea view, rooms on the side have a pool view and a sea view, the higher floor you have increases your view. Rooms are tastefully furnished with all you need for a holiday, bathroom is good and toiletries restocked every day when the room is cleaned.Restaurant serves a wide selection of food which we found to be very good and the staff are very helpful. Nice louge on the ground floor and again the staff in there are very helpful and efficient.Overall a very goood hotel with staff who will go out of their way to help you, we would certainly return.

Room Tip: We think overlooking the pool is best, you still have sea view and afternoon sun on balcony
