“Never again”

The reviews’ on Trip Advisor largely sum up this hotel. Breakfast is rubbish - I even offered to show the COOK how to fry eggs – bread was stale and the waiter at breakfast would be better doing another job. If you are brave enough to gothen look at the British flag over the entrance it is upside down which means 'in distress' and that sums up the hotel. My advice is pay a little bit more and AVOID this hotel LIKE THE PLAGUE

“No Reason to Return”

This was definitely a budget hotel and we got what we paid for. The room was an ok size and the temperature was good for the summer months. However, the bathroom was the size of a shoebox. The shower was somehow shoved behind the door and you couldn't reach the faucet without getting wet. It was just awkward. The beds were hard as can be. There was no parking included and it's a little tricky finding a place to park.

However, the accommodations were simple and inexpensive, so it might be good for families with kids. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, has a rowdy pool full of kids. I even think breakfast was included.

The hotel didn't suit us, but for someone looking for a cheap place to stay close to the beach in a nice town...this is your place.

“MIxed feelings”

It maybe didn't help that it rained for the first 3 days but the hotel is OK - Not great but OK. The decor is a little dated but clean. The rooms are adequate but you have to be careful where your room is. We were given a room at the front corner with the balcony over looking traffic lights and the Police station. With the local traffic stopping at the light and the Police coming and going all night you had better be a heavy sleeper. Having said that, as soon as I mentioned it to the receptionist, he relocated us in a room on the other side of the pool which was deathly quiet - Job done !
The food is ok - Continental breakfast with the usual ham, rolls and cakes. Evening meal is usually a choice of about three or four dishes. Not Jamie Oliver standard but perfectly edible .
If you are planning on hiring a car, be careful. There is nowhere to park at the hotel and the little road round the back is mostly reserved for Police parking ( as we found out the next morning !)
Be warned - Fuengirola is like Blackpool - All Tetleys bitter and all day deep fried english breakfasts.
If you want good food I can recommend a small bar called "Toroloco" next to the railway station. Good beer , excellent Tapas and the staff are great - Try the seafood platter tapas - at about 6 euros , there is enough for 2 to share and all fresh cooked - Enjoy !

  • Liked — location - far enough from the beach to be quiet but main roads easily reached for travel
  • Disliked — A bit noisy, no parking spaces,decor a bit dated

“Was Ok, Staff made it better, don't know if We'd go back”

We booked this as a very last minute holiday so just took what was on offer. The hotel is situated right next to the local Police station, hence there is very little noise. It's very near to the zoo and the shops are within 100 metres. The Beach is about the same distance away. We went half board which we never have done before due to my partners dietry needs, but they pretty much catered for most tastes(great if you like fish). The pool does need a good scrub but wasn't too dirty, The poolside area is kept well maintained and was very quiet during the week. The weekends were a lot busier and we found that other couples were "reserving" the sunbeds then going out for a walk. These towels were just removed and put tidily at the side if there were no other beds available. The rooms were quiet spacious and serviced every day. The aircon worked but was very noisy until you gave it a clump. I found the staff to be very helpful, although they seem to be doing many different jobs within in the hotel, so perhaps a litlle understaffed. Whilst staying here we did hear that they are trying to encourage more British visitors to the hotel. I feel that they are heading the right way but could do better. Overall it was a cheap, last minute holiday so we didn't expect too much and we wasn't dissappointed. Think i would have been had it been our main holiday of the year.

  • Liked — The staff tried to be very helpful
  • Disliked — The only bar shutting at 23:00 hours

“Lovely hotel, food, staff and not a bad location!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2007

Booked our holiday on travel supermarket and we loved it. Hassle free! Friendly staff, who all spoke excellent English and having to tidy away our own dinner was not quite a staff shortage in my book, and if you just left they would do it for you anyway! 100m from the beach and near to a few supermarkets, the zoo and castle. We were halfboard, food was ok, buffet style for breakfast and dinner. Usually a few things you would like, deserts a bit lacking though. Rooms are nice, well decorated, clean and most with balconies, not much of a view though, not that you really need one. Pool was lovely, quite a small hotel comparatively so you could always get a sun lounger. Gets busy at weekends with Spanish visitors, otherwise mostly British guests, a few French and Dutch. Mix of couples, families and old folk but everyone was courteous and friendly. Bar by the pool and drinks at dinner were quite expensive but no more than you'd expect. However, I did find a caterpillar in a plum (didnt eat it!) so be careful with the fruit as it had been washed but probably just a bad plum!? Thoroughly enjoyed it, should probably be a 4* hotel if it had mini-bars and all the other unnecessary luxuries! Hope you have as much fun as we did.

  • Liked — pool and zoo
  • Disliked — caterpillar in plum
