We arrived early in the morning to a kind receptionist who spoke very good english. he gave us a room up on the top floor (4th).
The beds were two singles, that being on our honeymoon wasnt the best. The balcony was covered in birds droppings, meaning when i put our towels and swimwear out to dry they then got covered and seems to be slanting downwards. My husband even refused to step out on it. YES the a/c unit did work but sometimes sounded as though it was going to fly off the wall. Also we had no cold water for 2 days. So that meant no shower unless you wanted 3rd degree burns. When we asked at reception about the water problem all we go was 'yes we are fixing'. After the 1st day we asked again, his reply was 'yes fixed, fixed'. Returning to our room, nothing! We reported it again to which a plumber did arrive and fix our problem.
When we went down to breakfast the next morning, i couldnt believe all there was, was packet cakes and croissents, some warm looking meat and cheese, and a toaster that looked about 100 years old. I even had to put my bread in 2/3 times to get it even looking brown. There is a pool bar but that was never open and didnt look like it had ever even run a day. The pool was clean and it never got too busy. If you like dead quiet while you are sunbathing then fine, but otherwise you need to make your own entertainment.
Fuengirola has a lot of memories for me, but we will not be returning to the hotel, its of our date, needs some tender love, care and attension. If it was revamped it would be an ideal place for couples and familys.
