“positives and negatives!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Positives: Very close to trains for initial transfers and good for getting about e.g Torremolinos ,Benalmadena , Malaga.Handy for bus stops.Close to sea and easy to walk along sea front to Los Boliches or Fuengirola itself ( old town).Good sized rooms with good facilities even if decor seems dated i.e. bath, shower, bidet, hair dryer ,basic toiletries etc.Flat screen TV.
Negatives:generally poor food - sometimes luke warm or stone cold, poor quality freezer to microwave food, salads limited to tomato and one type of lettuce for salads everything else some kind of ready prepared mayonaise mix ,rice mix , frozen cooked veg cold mix ,pickles etc.We had a large,Spanish family book into at least 4 rooms next to us ,we were on the end .Early evening they all congregated in the room next to us,grans, grandads ,moms ,dads ,teenage kids - the row was awful ,it was as if they were all shouting at once ,it sounded like they were arguing about Spanish football teams .I phoned reception and asked if anything could be done about it .They said they would investigate - no signs of that .Then I went down to reception and they said they could do nothing about it as it was day time .It eventually quelled at meal / entertainment time then started up late in the evening until 1.45am .It wasn't bad behaviour as such or a wild party ,just loud talking and shouting from alot of people congregated in one room until they were all tired enough to go back to their own rooms nearby .The walls are very thin in this hotel ,horrendous snoring ,like a tractor came from a nearby room for 4 days before the Spanish group moved in, the volume unbelievable !!I asked the reception if I could be moved rooms away from what seemed to be a take over in our corridor .Reception said they may look at it the next day and dismissed me by saying I could speak to the family about it .I didn't feel confident enough to take them all on especially with my limited spanish and probably their ltd english .I felt it was up to the hotel to see to problems that disturbed or upset the paying guests. In other words the hotel didn't want to know .The hotel was fairly full and they were collecting the money ,the rest seemed unimportant to them.
I mentioned the food issue to the Thomas Cook rep who thought that because we had got a very good deal financially ,which we had ,that the food issue should be on the back burner!I suggest that the senior management eat meals for a whole day or two, to keep up to date on what they are delivering.
This was a 4 star hotel but the food was no where near that .A nearby 3 star hotel delivers a much better service.I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it and I think Thomas Cook should review it as to whether it should be on their books at all ,especially at that level. We still had a great holiday because we were out alot of the time and know the area well so we had plenty to do .This is the first time I have felt motivated to write a review.

Room Tip: Try to avoid ,if you can ,being on a floor where a big group party invade!

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good selection of food to choose from during breakfast and dinner.

My husband was ill for a week between Christmas and New Year and the staff couldn't do enough to help us with the doctors and making sure I was okay.

We would like to send our thanks and fondest regards to every one in hotel but specially Anna in reception.

Hope to see them all soon.

Room Tip: Choose a room above diningroom, you will get the sun all day.

“how much you paid how much you get”

this is our second time stay at fuengirola park for x'mas. The main reason we choose this again because close to the train station only 1.7Euros from airport take about 35 mins reach the hotel, very handy.

Location : because close to the train station very easy to go everywhere, even bust stop behind the hotel to Fugneirolia town then you can choose the local bus travel any resorts you like.

Foods: disappoint for the x'mas meal, last year much better BUT the general evening meals seems improve.

Staffs: so far so good. Reception staffs need improve their English although I guess the hotel guests most are spainish but they should ready to serve other peoples who speak English. Overall they are not that bad.

Hotel: facilities good, especially indoor pool, big lobby and clean.

Room: like many of you agree the wall so thin, I can hear the next room people snoring!! Room size average, the housekeeper come to clean every day but not change the towels every time, I think maybe only 2 time for a week.

Overall: Still not the bad choice pay £40 per night+half board, what you expect.

We book to stay here again in May to see how different the resort in summer time, let you all know 4 months later.

Room Tip: Restaurant Block with Pool View

“Heard everything in the Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

The sound proofing was awful, heard everything in the hotel from the surrounding rooms, cannot get to sleep until early hours in the morning, The food was cold and tastless, spoken to the Hotel manager he said they put the food in freezer and out to warm it in the oven. So dissapointed. On the plus side the hotel was clean, and staff were very friendly. Beds were too hard and uncomfortable, had a back ache everyday. Will not be going back there.

Room Tip: Take earplugs

“Dont go for Christmas...and avoid if a light sleeper”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

We went to Fuengirola for Xmas, to get away and enjoy a stress free and warm holiday after a family illness last Christmas. I have to say the weather was glorious and didnt disappoint but the hotel left us feeling upset and bitter on departure.

The hotel itself is reasonably clean although the cleaning staff dont really clean the rooms well. Surfaces werent wiped down and under beds werent cleaned . We travelled with a child so were frequently looking under the beds for socks, toys etc so saw how dirty it was under there. We had 3 single beds pushed together and this was fine, altough the sheets are pretty awful and never felt clean. The bathroom was reasonable- shower over a bath and a hairdryer. The toilet seat wasnt on properly and this became irritating after a few days. Tv in room and a small fridge which we werent sure was on or not as it wasnt that cold.

The main problem with the rooms is the noise. I have never before been in a hotel where you can literally hear people in the next room going to the toilet, snoring, clearing their throats and even passing wind in the night. Conversations sound like shouting. When they say the walls are like paper, its no exaggeration...please be warned.

Facilities were generally poor. There was a ping pong table but we were refused bats and a ball, the pool table ate our euros and there were a few airhockey tables and two arcade games. There was a small play area located at the back of the adjoining hotel. I have to say the best thing about the whole place was the indoor pool. It was aesthetically lovely. My son did, however, have a mysterious eye infection the day after being in it but it cleared within a day or so. We did go back in and avoided getting his head under the water and had no problems after that. There is free wifi available if sitting in the reception lounge.

I dont recommend the hotel if you have children and are after entertainment. The shows are far too late with most starting at 10 pm.There is no entertainment before around 8.45 pm.

Food was ok, we went half board and it was self serve buffet style. Frantic but a good range of foods. Disappointed there werent any local or traditional foods. It was mostly british fare but was to be expected.

The most upsetting thing was the Christmas day meal. We had been sold a package with a Christmas day Gala meal. In fact, we travelled there FOR Xmas so this was an attractive feature for the holiday. The Spanish celebrate and have their meal on Xmas eve so we were asked to go to dinner on Xmas eve early so the staff could get away to celebrate their Christmas. We respectfully did so. We were really upset that they didnt repay the gesture the next day.

We had been told the Xmas dinner/lunch was at 1 pm and the maitre d told us we could arrive between 1-3 pm for this meal. Christmas morning, a hotel guest we met in the pool mentioned that he had heard the gala dinner had been cancelled. We arrived at the dining hall at 2-2.20pm to find it was a self serve buffet and not the waiter servive gala dinner and that staff were clearing up to leave. We were ushered to a table that was aboiut to be cleared, with much fuss and checking of watches, and the meal that followed was horrendous. The food was fine, it was the staff and the atmosphere. The tables around us were being cleared, the staff rushing us, clinking dishes, glasses and cutlery into large carts and yelling across us while we bolted our Christmas dinner. While we ate, one waiter reached across and grabbed the token Christmas table decoration (candle) from the centre of our table and packed it away. We were quite shocked by this.

Food was being cleared away from the buffet as we reached for it. Our wine glasses were removed as we ate. My 7 year old son had his napkin taken from his lap and packed away, while he ate! It was very upsetting. As we ate our main meal, the restaurant supervisors helped themselves to the dessert buffet. We left (or were pushed out) before 3 pm and the room was cleared and they had started sweeping up . There were one or two more tables of people who had done the same as us. Others had arrived at 1 pm to a similar atmosphere but we had been told by the head guy that we could arrive anytime between 1 and 3 pm so had done so. I have to say we were very upset and really unhappy at how we had been treated. Extremely disappointing that they didnt pay us the same respect as we had done them the night before. Really bad impression on Spanish people now.

We left on boxing day and were short changed on our safe deposit...but reminded them they had done so and were given the whole amount. The airport transfer was incredible prompt and went like a breeze.

Overall we had a nice holiday and enjoyed the sunshine and the surrounds but really dont recommend this place for a Christmas getaway.
