This is a traditional style hotel in an excellent location next to the train station. The rooms are large with brightly painted wooden furniture, spotlessly clean and with a large balcony - ask for the west side if you want sun. Balconies are arranged so that everyone gets a view. Toiletries are regularly replenished - no need to buy and the fridge is welcome although a bit inefficient. Food is aimed at the Spanish guests, no problem for us as we love Spanish food, especially the thick soups. All is good quality and a good variety to choose from. Staff are cheerful and friendly as are the spanish pensioners - a smile and a "buenos dias" goes a long way! The area is quiet and very friendly - drivers stop at crossings and wave you cheerfully across, whereas in Fuengirola they'll try to run you down! Although the address is Fuengirola, the 2 train stops difference lead to a total difference in character. This is Torreblanca, no disco bars that we saw but friendly local bars and restaurants with reasonably priced drinks and food - the hotel bar was very reasonable also. The pools and gardens are superb. Three pools, if you include the children's. Well kept large lawns ensure everyone has somewhere to soak up the sun. The public transport allows you plenty to do if the weather is poor, you can walk miles in either direction and if you're tired just get the bus or train back. you need the bus to get to Benalmadena Costa as the train station is inland. The once separate village of Los Boliches is a short stroll away. Explore the old part with its narrow streets and large selection of shops and bars. Close by there are several little watering holes and a very good local style restaurant on the corner on the sea front. No for those who want young and lively nor for children with fussy appetites but we will return!
Room Tip: A higher floor gives a good view but lifts are slow at busy times.
