Can't say enough about Felipe and Reyes, our wonderful hosts, who made us feel more like long lost friends than guests in a regular hotel. Arrived in pouring rain, the GPS sent us to the wrong street. The Owner Felipe ran out to help us, practically ran ahead of the car, stopped straffic on one way street to guide us. Incredible! Beside his excellent English, Felipe's cooking skills are also remarkable for someone with a Civil Engineering degree from MIT...Overall, made us feel special. I would strongly recommend this hotel for those who enjoy the B&B experience in luxury settings

If you want to stay in a modern, chain hotel - this will not be your thing. For a sophisticated traveler in search of unique and authentic experiences, Casa Carmona is a delight. This is a mansion built is the 1500s and it is oozing with the elegance of centuries past. It may not get dusted daily, but so much atmosphere! Walk inside its huge wooden doors and you are transported. The public rooms are like a movie set from Old Andalucia. We stayed in Suite #7 - when we lay in our bed we looked to a vaulted, backlit, handcarved Moorish ceiling with hundrends of stars! To die for!! The young owner is sweet, accommodating and gentlemanly. His family has been associated with this home for generations. If you want to experience a slice of aristocratic Andulucian in the way it used to be lived, you will love Casa Carmona.

We had looked forward to staying at this hotel and were very disappointed. The reviews we read must have been years old. The hotel needs a total renovation. The decor is old and dusty. Bedskirts are ripped. Wall paper is peeling. The elevator does not work and the restaurant is not open. The pool is not in use. We had to run the water for at least 15 minutes to get hot water. I found a very large cockroach in the bedroom. I think the young couple who either own or run the hotel are in over their heads. We paid our travel agent ahead of time to book this hotel and I think we over paid by quite a bit. The pictures on the Internet are years old and do not show the current state of this hotel.
