There are a lot of charming aspects to talk about but there are also a few shortcomings. The fella we spoke on the phone with was also charming and helpful but upon arrival, we were greeted by someone else and a lobby full of cigarette smoke which forced us to wait outside while my husband completed the registration. Be sure to call ahead for directions as the GPS may lead you very astray.
The hotel is beautiful in construction with a peaceful (though small) atrium. The rooms have most of what you need but as another reviewer pointed out, the TV is confusing and took quite a while to figure out. The linens are very dated and the bedspread didn't appear to be clean enough for me to want to use. We immediately removed them in both of the rooms. The pillows weren't comfy and the mattresses on the hard side. That being said, it was a fun place because of the antiquity of the building and renovation. It was very clean and housekeeping friendly.
We didn't choose to eat breakfast in the hotel as there were so many wonderful cafes in the town square. Loved sitting on the sidewalk enjoying the cool air, even in a July morning. I would also consider returning for another stay - after checking out the competition.
