“Nice food in a traditional setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

This is a review only of the restaurant. We have eaten there several times and found it reliable, with food of good quality and a decent, not over-priced wine-list. Service is professional and well-informed, though maybe not as consistently attentive as some people might like. Avoid tables that are close to the lavatories (a couple really are too close).

As others have noted, it's a nice place with a little courtyard at the entrance, though often seems a bit bereft of staff around the entrance (but maybe that's because we have usually gone at weekends). It's on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Antequera (not within walking distance).

This hotel is the perfect base for RFH Fitness Breaks with its superb facilities for the training program and for relaxing afterwards in the sauna, steam room and spa.
RFH breaks are no picnic and Mel and the team will provide everything you need to achieve your goals and encourage you to put in the work, so trust me if you don't get results it'll be down to you, I did and I'm in my 60's.

“When can I come back??”

I have just returned from a 10 day fitness holiday with RFH and loved it. I arrived stressed, sleep deprived and concerned about my rapidly reducing fitness and I left feeling physically and mentally rejeuvenated! I cannot recommend it highly enough - and I hope to be able to repeat the experience on an annual basis. Antequera is a perfectly positioned base for this type of fitness holiday and the hotel, situated on the outskirts of town is ideal. The hiking and biking trails are spectular (much gratitude goes to the guides Antonio and David who are great!) and the fitness facilities in the Finca Eslava are perfect for the afternoon gym based activities. The fitness staff are first rate - Josh, Trui, Leah, Elena & Mel are trainers who inspire rather than simply instruct. The workouts were tough but a lot of fun! The hotel is clean, very comfortable and the free wifi is a bonus. The food is heathly and freshly prepared. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that, although I originally booked for 7 days, I stayed for 10!

“RFH Fitness - Finca Eslava”

Second visit to the guys at RFH Fitness who use Fina Eslava as their base. Very enjoyable break - in fact extended my stay by 3 days. Lost an inch off my hips and half inch from waist during my 10 day stay - so delighted. Big thank you to Mel who has brought together a really great bunch of people to lead on the hiking, biking and fitness activities on offer. They are passionate about what they do and are a lively and fun bunch - but they will challenge you. I met a great group of people - a complete mix in terms of nationality and levels of fitness from an Australian guy who completes in Triathlons to - well the rest of us not quite so athletic types. The food was healthy and delicious just what you need to fuel all the exercise you will be doing. I had a lovely double room with balcony. The location of the hotel is on the outskirts of the pretty town of Antequerra and it is very easy to take the train to Granada/Malaga if you wanted day "off" from the exercise. .I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
