Came through on a one day business trip. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff downstairs a little inept but it didn't matter that much. I expected much worse and was happy I could get a good night of sleep.

First and foremost, the AC Hotel was great. I will give the hotel 5 stars for customer service. Moises, the front desk manager was extremely nice and forthcoming with things to do (nothing really), places to eat (tapa resturant down the street not good--he will let you know which one, I wish I would have asked before I at there.), lastly very clean. The hotel offers free beverages in the room and free access to wi-fi in the lobby. When the resturant is closed there is also free beverages and snacking items for hotel guest. Overall I give the hotel a rating of 4, this is because on the first day, the hot water did not work. I had to take a cold shower, before my voyage to Morracco (Tanger), Africa.

Got a great deal on this hotel, stayed here for 4 nights following a music festival for a bit of relaxation and sight seeing. Although the location of the hotel wasnt fantastic it was a perfect base to visit Gibraltar and Tarifa. The hotel its self was great, the free mini bar was a nice touch as was the free coffee and internet in the hotel lounge. Room was clean, modern and spacious - could not fault at all. The english speaking staff were very helpful and gave us lots of information about ferries and restaurants in the area. We even tried the room service one night which was also very good. The only thing i that i could think of to be improved is a pay per view option on the tv or maybe a few more english channels. Ended up watching CNN for most of the time we were in the room.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody.

We stayed for three nights at this hotel. As is written in other reviews, the hotel is clean, modern, and pleasant. The staff was friendly and helpful, being able to speak Spanish came in handy as some of the staff does not speak English. We didn't eat at the hotel, but there's a great tapas restaurant called La Corcha just down the hill. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk along the seawall to the ferries to Africa and Gibraltar, also about a 30 minute walk to the bus and train stations (or a quick 5 euro taxi ride). If you're planning to go to Africa or Gibraltar, this hotel is an excellent option to use as a base for day trips. The only glitch was that when I booked the hotel, AC was an independent chain. AC then entered into an agreement with Marriott, so finding my reservation to confirm was a bit difficult. They don't participate in Marriott Rewards yet, according to the website, that will start in November 2011.
