Good location and welcoming reception area however a stay over revealed serious defects. Noise on a Saturday night with inadequate sound-proving. Our son could hear in detail an amorous couple as he walked the corridor to his room. Worse he had difficulty sleeping with the noise from and after the nightclub. His room with two single beds looked uncared for with one curtain partially unhooked and a decor reminiscent of a sixties English bed-sit.We too had disturbed sleep as we could hear conversations as people walked the corridor. The visit was topped off with an Irish breakfast consisting of inedible sausages topped with cold rashers and hash browns. My tip is order only mushrooms as they were hot.The pot of tea was perfect but why did no one call to the tables with the offer of seconds?
This hotel is suitable to dine in but not to stay over. While key areas looked well bedrooms and breakfast area were sub-standard and there is no lift. We will be back to Mullingar but not to this hotel. A pity.
