“Excellent Well Cooked Traditional Irish Sunday Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2011

We live in nearby Dungarvan and often travel to Ardmore for a spin.
Easter Sunday, Lamb was plentiful and to die for.
Last week had the Beef again which was melt in the mouth and my friend had the plaice and all the vegitables were freshly cooked every time.
This homely, Owner run Family Hotel has real athmosphere and obviously is loved by the locals.

Room Tip: If not having full lunch, try main course in Bar

“Great Value - We would definitely come back again and again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2010

My family and I have stayed at this hotel for the past 4 summers. We always have a great time. Although the room was small it was comfortable, had clean bed linen, tea/coffee making facilities, free WIFI (added bonus). The staff are so polite, friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recomend the "full Irish" breakfast which has become a highlight with my children. The bar food is superb & there is a great choice. There is also a childrens menu. The garden surrounding the hotel is well maintained. During the summer months there is live music every Sunday. Not to be missed! Aidan the proprietor is so friendly, hardworking & so obliging. I would definitely recomend staying at this hotel. We are already planning our next trip for Summer 2011!!

“The Round Tower is a dump to be avoided”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2010

The rooms was dirty, the carpet and bed linens worn and torn. The bathroom was loaded with mildew. The food at dinner our first night there was overcooked and tasteless; the breakfasts were barely tolerable. Our second night in Ardmore we had a wonderful meal at Cliff House, where we should have stayed.

Dear Tucker17,

As proprietor of Round Tower Hotel I was really shocked to get this damming review today. You will surely note that this review is not consistent with reviews we have received in the past. I work in my hotel full time, almost 24/7, so would have probably checked you in / out - served you dinner, served in the bar and at no time from my recollection was I made aware that you were unhappy with your room, dinner or breakfast.
If I had known that I had unhappy customers I would have rectified things immediately.
The Round Tower Hotel team have taken your comments on board and apologize for what appears to be a very unsatisfactory stay.

Best regards,
Aidan Quirke

“Extremely friendly staff, Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2010

I have stayed here 2 years in a row and each visit was great. The bedrooms are quite small however they are very clean with fresh white linen bedclothes. Tea making facilities with biscuits - always a nice touch :o) The hotel bar has a great atmosphere always and the weekend I stayed there was live music outside in the garden on the Sunday afternoon which was really great. Aidan is extremely friendly and accomodating. On our final morning we came down a little too late for breakfast and the chef said it was no problem making us breakfast. When we apologied for being late he responded "sure you're on your holidays" - such flexibility and hospitality, you really couldnt ask for more.

PS! Ardmore is a lovely spot, unspoiled by tourism, picturesque. Love it!!!

“All you could want for the best Irish Hospitality experience.....”

I've stayed in the Round Tower Hotel twice now... I'd like to go back this year but can't get off work!

My family goes there every August as back when my Grandad used to go (he loved going down there to his 'favourite place in the world' :) Aidan looked after him very very well... We appreciated that so much we felt we should go down more often ourselves. We've gotten to know Aidan now and that man works harder than any other hotel owner I've seen over the years! He genuinely loves the work and works very hard. You'll always see him around the hotel doing something, whether it be checking people in and carrying their bags, or doing the cooking and working behind the bar. He's an al rounder.

The hotel itself is always clean, there is always a great atmosphere and its less than 5 minutes from the gorgeous beach. The rooms have everything you need and all views from the rooms are fine (who stays in their room that much on holidays anyway?!) The food is absolutely gorgeous, I ate there almost everyday I stayed there! The Cliff walk is lovely and all in all it's just a great place to go and chill out for a few days. I recommend to everyone and anyone! Go support the nicest hotel owner in Ireland! :)

Dear Emma, Many thanks for your very kind comments , Im flattered! We all loved looking after your Grandfather when he visited us on an annual basis , I loved chatting to him about his G.A.A exploits over his career. Pity you cant make it this Summer but hopefully next year.
