Hello, during a pleasure trip in late June 2011, we opted to make reservations at the Hampton Inn, located in Fayetteville Arkansas. The hotel IS located right by the freeway and there are plenty of places to eat nearby if that is important to you.
When we arrived, there was no desk clerk anywhere to be found. After a ten minute wait, one appeared. She was not a happy camper. There was no Welcome to Hampton Inn, how may I help you, or Good Evening at all. While my other half was checking in, I asked her if she knew when the local Farmers Market opened the next day (Saturday) and she replied NO, in a very snippy voice. Guess she did not approve of two men sharing a room together.
It took multiple trips to the room to get our bags up from the car and we NEVER saw her again at the front desk.
The room was on the second floor, front of the hotel. It was clean and well appointed. The TV was a tube type and was screwed to the top of a entertainment center. The room had a wall mounted AC/Heat control which was fairly easy to use, but did the room did not really cool off till morning.
The room was dust free, but not totally clean of stains and such (interpret NOT GOOD).
While the hotel seemed full, it was pretty quiet, so we slept like rocks.
The next morning, there was no sign of anyone at the front desk again. So, after multiple trips in and out with bags, we finally left our keys on the front desk counter and left.
They did seem to have a breakfast buffet and indoor pool which we never used.
I would tell you that a more hospitable property could be found for less than a hundred bucks a night in the area. We will look for another on our next visit to Fayetteville.
Room Tip: Stay at a different hotel
