Well located hotel to be in the middle of the Golden Circle attractions. Unpleasent smell of the soup of the day in the foyer (broccolli one night, mushroom the next), smell did not extend to the bedrooms and there were great views from the rooms overlooking the lake.Smell was so offputting that we ate out both nights (loved the Lindin bistro) but breakfast was tasty and good value in the mornings.
Local pool is 3 mins walk, nice and warm but a bit plain by Icelandic standards with no slides and just a few hotpots. New steam baths have opened by the lake, looked sophisticated but cost a lot more to enter and would not have entertained children.
Staff were all lovely, internet access in upstairs lounge, ask at reception for free code to activate computer
