We have just returned from a road trip to France where we stayed at this hotel for one night. we had followed the Sunday Times reccomendation of the best hotels in France. We opted for the comfort room at €85 a night thinking it would be fine...it wasn't. Those rooms have not been refurbished for years and are not up to the standards of the rest of the hotel. We asked if they had any other availabile rooms and were showed a superior and a suite and oh my God, what a difference!! The suites were amazing and the superior was certainly much much better. In the end we were given the option of moving to the suite for a special price, so we did and were very very happy after that. We also had dinner at the restaurant and the food and wine was amazing! We spoke to the young chef Jilles - a former Gordon Ramsay alumni - a lovely guy, going for one Michlen star. The restaurant staff were great and we had a fantastic time.
The village is very nice as well and just at the limit with a big forest, shame we didn't have enough time to explore it more.
So, all in all, a great great place, but do spend a bit more and stay in a superior or even a suite, it's worth the extra cost!
