“Sister weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We went done on Sat. stayed in the Basin Park Hotel. We loved our room. The only the thing was after we checked in went down to parking to get our bags. by the time we got back up to the hotel the elevator was out of order. So we had to take our bags up 5 floors. But hey the front desk people very friendly the Van Guys were awesome. Just all and all awesome time.

Thank you for your review. Unfortantly the age of the hotel does show sometimes when the elevator is used frequently. Thank you for understanding. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit.

“Wedding Disaster!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We were promised a small "intimate" wedding venue and a once in a lifetime honeymoon experience. What we received was carpet being ripped up, 7am construction work right outside our room, and staff that walked in and out of our wedding with their paint brushes. This was all written off by the management of the hotel because it was the "off season" and we were told up front that we would have to set up our own wedding. It would have been nice to know we would arrive to a filthy wedding room including dead bugs on the floor. Our room was nice with a flat screen tv, jacuzzi tub and a walk in shower if you don't mind the age of the hotel. The towels are similar to sand paper and you might as well ask for extra up front because they are teeny tiny. The parking is down the road with "free" shuttle. However, if you are here more than one day the tips for the driver do add up. Do yourself a favor, stay at the Lazee Days Cabins down the road and skip the historical experience.

Kristina, thank you for your review. We are currently remodeling at the Basin Park Hotel to better accomidate our guest in the future. We are vary aware that it is a running hotel and the construction does not start until 10AM. I apologize for the wedding situation as you were informed several times before arrival that not all locations were guaranteed. The Barefoot Ballroom was closed down for painting and we apologize if you were not informed of that. The carpet was vacuumed at your request and we apologize that due to the construction the floor have been collecting more debris than normal. The towel situation is noted and will be taken care of in the future, and request for more towels is always an option with just a phone call to the front desk . We are fortunate to offer a parking lot to our guest in downtown Eureka Springs, perhaps next time we can accomidate you at our sister hotel the Crescent Hotel at the top of the hill, that does include a on site parking lot. Please email me at crescentactivities@gmail.com for a free upgrade on your next visit. We look forward to approving your opinion in the future.

“Great Staff, Quaint Historic Property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Frankly I had a delightful stay at the 1905 Basin Park Hotel this weekend and it was wonderful to visit the historic hotel once again after nearly 20 years. Located perfectly in the centre of town, it was easy to find and valet parking is conveniently located directly in front of the building.

I was greeted immediately by the valet and escorted into the hotel. The lobby is truly lovely, warm and inviting. Received a friendly welcome from the Front Desk staff, and due to being off season I received a complimentary upgrade to a superior king room. Nice! A restaurant, spa and I think bar are located in the hotel however I didn't try any of them out, choosing to hit the town instead.

Unlike the lobby the rooms are a little rough around the edges albeit very clean. One finds uneven floorboards, old upholstery, and somewhat battered period-inspired furnishing. At the same time, however, I found the condition of the room almost quaint as it somehow translates into that period feel the owners evidently like to maintain.

The amenities include a coffee maker, in-room safe, iron and board, refrigerator, large screen television and ample lighting. Most rooms from what I can tell have ceiling fans as well as dedicated heating/cooling systems. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, soap and body wash, and plenty of clean white towels can be found in the bathroom.

Bed was, as mentioned, king size and in new condition. Bedding also seemed new or newer, very clean and freshly laundered. The bed was very comfortable, and extra blankets as well as pillows are stored in the closet. The room although located on the main street was quiet and by closing the venetian blinds nice and dark.

Only issue for me was the shower/bath knob that was in shoddy condition and difficult to turn. In fact, I had to call the Front Desk for assistance, however maintenance came immediately and opened it up for me. Hopefully it will soon be replaced.

Otherwise, aside from that one issue if you want to be in the centre of all the wonderful things Eureka Springs has to offer, as well as enjoy a true historic property I highly recommend the 1905 Basin Park Hotel.

“Awesome Location with lots of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

I love the location of the Basin Park Hotel. Right in the middle of downtown Eureka, making it simple to walk around and browse the shops, enjoy the scenary, eat at the restaurants, and hit up the pubs. The Basin, built over 100 years ago had lots of history, that was very interesting. You do have to park a ways from the hotel, but the complementary shuttle sees that you come and go safely so this wansn't an issue for us. Had a bit of a hard time with my check in due to the fact that the reservation was made thru Hotels.com, according to the front desk clerk. However, we eventually checked in successfully and were given a complementary upgrade due to our problems (Thank you!). Yes, this hotel is older, so tourists expecting the Embassy would be disapointed, but the rooms are clean, cozy, and the atmosphere fits right in with the feel of Eureka Springs. The walls are very thin and we could hear our neighbors visiting, but this was not an issue as they were not too loud. All in all, I enjoyed the Basin and it's history. I will definately stay here during my next trip to Eureka, which I am planning in the near future. Thank you Basin!
