Frankly I had a delightful stay at the 1905 Basin Park Hotel this weekend and it was wonderful to visit the historic hotel once again after nearly 20 years. Located perfectly in the centre of town, it was easy to find and valet parking is conveniently located directly in front of the building.
I was greeted immediately by the valet and escorted into the hotel. The lobby is truly lovely, warm and inviting. Received a friendly welcome from the Front Desk staff, and due to being off season I received a complimentary upgrade to a superior king room. Nice! A restaurant, spa and I think bar are located in the hotel however I didn't try any of them out, choosing to hit the town instead.
Unlike the lobby the rooms are a little rough around the edges albeit very clean. One finds uneven floorboards, old upholstery, and somewhat battered period-inspired furnishing. At the same time, however, I found the condition of the room almost quaint as it somehow translates into that period feel the owners evidently like to maintain.
The amenities include a coffee maker, in-room safe, iron and board, refrigerator, large screen television and ample lighting. Most rooms from what I can tell have ceiling fans as well as dedicated heating/cooling systems. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, soap and body wash, and plenty of clean white towels can be found in the bathroom.
Bed was, as mentioned, king size and in new condition. Bedding also seemed new or newer, very clean and freshly laundered. The bed was very comfortable, and extra blankets as well as pillows are stored in the closet. The room although located on the main street was quiet and by closing the venetian blinds nice and dark.
Only issue for me was the shower/bath knob that was in shoddy condition and difficult to turn. In fact, I had to call the Front Desk for assistance, however maintenance came immediately and opened it up for me. Hopefully it will soon be replaced.
Otherwise, aside from that one issue if you want to be in the centre of all the wonderful things Eureka Springs has to offer, as well as enjoy a true historic property I highly recommend the 1905 Basin Park Hotel.
