When I discovered the third most haunted hotel in the US was practically in my backyard, I had to go stay. The hotel is amazing when you drive up and inside is like stepping into the 1900's. If you like old architecture, antiques, history, and beautiful scenery, this is the place to stay. My best friend and I were able to get Dr Baker's room on the 5th floor with a stairway to the bedroom on the top 6th floor. Our decor was more 1940 compared to other rooms we got to see that had beautiful antique beds and furniture. Our view from our room was breathtaking. The hotel has a free shuttle to downtown which has loads of shops and dining. That night we took the ghost tour and learned about all the paranormal things that happen here. We got pictures with our cameras of "orbs" and glowing green spots that looked like eyes of an animal. Around 2 am we went ghost hunting and met the couple staying in Room 218, the most famous room in the place. We showed each other our rooms. We all got pictures of orbs all over our room. Weird! We slept with the shades drawn and lights on. We had unusual things happen around us that I explained with possibilities that weren't spirits. Who knows? Quite an experience I doubt I would find anywhere else.
