I was in Eureka for my son's wedding and stayed here. Thought it was going to be a decent place with reasonable value. The room itself wasn't horrible but it was freezing cold when we checked in. Turned the heat up which eventually got warm by bedtime but then the heat wouldn't shut off. It was suffocatingly hot the rest of the night. The pool temp was too cold to be comfortable and the jacuzzi had soap bubbles in it. But the real problem was the service. My car needed emergency repair just after arriving on Sunday afternoon. Asked Holly if we could stay after check out while the car was in the shop w/o a charge. She said you can stay til 1 but after that I have to charge you. The next morning I was confirming with the desk clerk on duty and she knew nothing of it. She said she would check with housekeeping and they didn't know anything about it. She said we couldn't stay. When I asked if she checked with Holly, she showed me a text where Holly said she didn't make any kind of arrangement like that. This is the end of January. This is the off season. The hotel is 90% vacant! I'm not asking to stay another night. All I needed was a place for my group to be safe, warm, & comfortable for a few additional hours while waiting on emergency car repairs. All the manager wanted to do was argue and say she couldn't do that. Fortunately the car was repaired by 11:30 and we couldn't leave fast enough. If you ever need your car repaired in the Eureka area, go to K Way Automotive. If you ever need some home repairs done in the Eureka area, call Ken Ham who stopped to help some stranded motorist. Thanks to Ken, K Way Automotive, and G&I Towing. They made what was a difficult situation, bearable.
