Stayed with another couple during the annual antique and classic car show. The pictures don't do this cottage justice. It is very roomy and nicely appointed with a mix of old and new. The cottage has everything to offer.....sits right on main street, you can just lock the door and walk to downtown. It has a front porch that looks over a beautiful yard with stone walls on one side. We pulled our lawn chairs out and watched the antique cars parade right in front of us...excellent!
The main trolley hub is a 5 minute walk away, if that. You can buy an all day ticket and just let them take you wherever. This came in very handy, as we decided to do a little "pub crawling". The owner was very friendly and even had made us a coffee cake upon our arrival that was to die for.
I have been to Eureka, probably 50 times in the past 28 years. Overall, this was the best weekend I have had there, largely in part to the cottage.
Oh yeah, and if you're like us and bring rolls of foam with you when you go out of town, because you can't tolerate hard motel beds anymore,,,don't worry. The beds here are very comfortable. We all slept like babies.
So if you're looking for someplace very clean, very old, with modern updates (I didn't even mention the 2 person jacuzzi upstairs) that has beautiful landscaping, that backs to the woods and rock ledges on one side, but sits right on main street on the other, and is literally right on the edge of downtown, I highly recommend this place.
