I've stayed at the Alpen Dorf about 7 yrs in a row now. The last 4-5 with the new owner, and planning to be there again in a couple of weeks. The new owner has made several good improvements and it keeps getting even better. The "service" there is excellent and they are extremely helpful to make sure you have anything you need and enjoy your stay. The rooms I've been in have all been very clean, kept, comfortable, etc. and the rates have been very good. They provide wood for bonfires at night that are great to sit back, visit with family or friends, and to relax .... with the 'staff' making sure you have everything you need. The 'kids' like the play ground area and that they could "run". You won't get that kind of concern or service at other motels. It's 'just' enough out of the major traffic and buzz, yet close enough you don't go far for anything you want to go to.
Good places to eat very close by as well. Horse riding is available within 1 1/2 miles... and is a great place to ride (go to the 2nd stables place, vs the 1st one).
Anyone who had an asthma attack, had it as a result of anxiety and stress from traveling, not the motel. My lungs and grandson's are sensitive , as well as have several allergies, and we've never had any issues when staying there. The woods are literally right out your back door, but that's one nice thing about it..... great views, as well as spotting different birds, etc. while sitting on the balcony relaxing. It's espeically beautiful there in the late Fall when all of the leaves are changing.
