We stayed 5-12 Feb 2012. 2 adults & 1 child 11yrs. Hotel is very clean & minimalist with a small bar area which was often too busy to get a seat in the evening. The dining room is comfortable & staff very helpful but it felt more like a canteen than a 4* restaurant, with tables set in long lines causing you to pick a route behind other diners backs to access the buffet. All meals are buffet style and quite repetative in content. I found most hot buffet food to be only tepid even when straight out of the kitchen. The grill was the best option for hot food where the chef would cook meat/fish of the day to order. There was a lot of use of nuts (particularly pistachio which was sprinkled on almost every dessert) which caused a problem for a nut allergy sufferer in our group and prevented us all from enjoying a choice of desserts. I did explain the problem & a nut free alternative was provided but was not offered daily & issues of cross contamination not understood/considered. The wine list was quite extensive and reasonably priced starting at about 12 euros for a decent bottle. Rooms spacious even using sofa bed, although lacked anyhwere to hang damp ski gear, (only inside wardrobe) hooks on the wall would have been useful. Bathroom makes or breaks it for me. It was very clean with separate shower and bath with shower attachment. The location is very handy for the slopes which are a short walk down hill, and you can access all areas of the extensive mountains of Grandvalira easily whatever your ability. The hotel provides individual secure ski lockers for each hotel room. The apres ski, which can go on into the early hours, is close by & can cause some noise disturbance, although we did not find this to be too much of a problem. Games room & computers are available & WIFI access was limited to 45 mins. Spa area is small but adequate with x2 sauna cabins, x2 steam rooms & x2 small jacuzzis. You do have to walk to the hotel from the bus station & vice versa on return but this is a short 5 min walk & luggage is transported for you. A nice hotel overall which I would revisit but consider B&B only, as there are numerous restaurants close by offerring a variety of reasonably priced food.
