“You get what you pay for”

I stayed here with a group of nine other people in Jan/Feb 12. On arrival, the staff were very pleasant and allowed us to check in 2 hours before our allocated time, although the 200euro deposit seemed a bit steep considering it was only 2 star accomodation. The rooms were as expected, small but had everything you needed. Could certainly do with being updated in the not too distant future but overall, it would be hard to fault too much. The location is very good in terms of access to the slopes.

Throughout the duration, the staff at reception remained fairly friendly and helpful when asked anything. The one issue I had was with the lack of cleaning staff visible. I never saw a maid from we arrived until we departed. The very least I would have expected would have been a fresh towel every other day and some basics like toilet roll and a drying cloth. I dont expect people to clean up after me but I think that a fresh towel isnt too much to ask. The only other issue with this accomodation is the noise. The building itself is dated and this means we could hear virtually everything from 2 floors below/above and all of the rooms adjacent.

My advice would be to spend slightly more and book into Snowflake or Olympiades.

“Practical, value for money, well situated. Monster.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012 via mobile

I stayed at Frontera Blanca in Jan 12 and was pleasantly surprised at the standard considering it's 2*. Myself, my Wife and another couple shared a four birth. It was clean, basic but more than adequate for a boarding trip. Plenty of hot water, towels etc. I reported some bulbs that weren't working and a faulty pull out bed. These were fixed immediately. The apartments are literally less than 20 meters away from the piste. The location is perfect for shops, pubs and eateries etc. we found a pub with happy hour 16-1800 doing 2 pints and French fries for €3.50. Tasty! Take your own tea towels if you plan to eat in etc, as we did every other night. Dishwasher is a bonus. You have to pay the €200 deposit cash, so if you are on a budget factor that in. I will stay there again next year without a doubt. Enjoy people. xxx

“Perfect location”

I was a little worried on reading previous reviews but on arrival all worries were banished.
I contacted fonteria who booked everything from accommodation, ski rental, and lift passes.
I only paid 1/2 and should have paid rest on arrival. They didn't want it on arrival but said come back whenever.
We arrived late Sunday night, new years day and staff were still there.
I parked outside, unloaded luggage and went to office where welcomed and dealt with very efficiently. We were even given our lift passes. (Avoiding huge queues I saw in the morning).
Apartment was small but adequate, comfortable and warm.
We cooked a couple of times but restaurants were offering great deals so ate out. Also down stairs there is a lovely coffee shop with pastries.
Company use "rentaski" which is at the entrance. Again great service and quality skis and boots.
Ski lockers on street level so no stairs or lifts to wait for.
Piste literally across the road.
As apartment small easy to clean at end of stay. Staff there as arranged, quick check made and they weren't awkward. Full deposit returned.
I would recommend these apartments.
Only little issue was parking. The apartments do have underground parking which were empty. They charge €10/day. I thought there was free parking at the end if the road but this was locked and not free. After unloading luggage I parked the car on the side of the road as you enter Pas. This was free but warning if it snows the snow plough will bury it.
All in all had a great week thanks to fonteria blanc.

“Perfect location for access to the slopes”

These apartments are absolutely ideal for people who want to be as close as possible to the piste. It's literally across the road. The facilities are perfectly adequate, not fantastic, but certainly good enough. There was loads of hot water, clean towels/sheets and space for 2. There's a 2 ring hob, microwave, kettle and TV. Our apartment looked right down on the ski slope out the large window. The heating is fine and the apartment was very clean when we arrived. On the down side, the sound insulation is pretty poor. On New Year's Eve, we could hear the people partying in the restaurant below us until 5am and got woken up at 8 each morning to the trudging of ski boots and excited skiers going up and down the stairs. In fairness though, the only sounds after 11pm most nights were the toilets flushing. The walls really are paper thin. For anyone used to 4 or 5 star accomodation, this is not it. But, it was above expectations and perfect for a skiing holiday where skiing was the priority, not luxury. I'd stay there again without question.

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking onto the ski slopes

“All other reviews are just dramatised!”

there is nothing I love more than a good ski trip and I left it in the hands of a friend to choose and book the holiday. I myself am a 5star, wine bar and dining kinda guy.

When I was forwarded the info and found it was Frontera Blanca for accom, I immediately got on to trip advisor. My heart sank! I couldn't believe from reading the previous reviews that this is what had been picked. I'd paid my money and was seriously considering an upgrade to a different hotel when we arrived.

With no problems at check in and after handing in our deposit, we got to the run and what did we find????!!!!

A perfectly fully functioning self catering apartment.

Enough towels and bedding to go round, acceptable facilities and one of the best views.

We cooked 3 nights and ate out 3 nights, It was perfect and very social to be in the apartment.

Location was great as you just tripped and fell at the first set of ski lifts.

There is a terrific little bar in side the complex ran by a man called Stefano who will make you feel so welcome and feed you full of booze and he sells wine by the glass @ EUR1.50 Bargain.

Just to finish off, I don't know where the previous comments came from RE cleanliness, it is self catering so it is as clean as you want it to be, mop, bucket and brush all provided.

Deposit returned NO problem.
