“I wished I had cancelled and went elsewhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

I booked a room in this hotel from my computer while at a McDonalds in Amarillo TX. I was camping out during my road trip but the weather forecast for OK & AR was for rain and storms. I decided to get a hotel instead.
I researched hotels but all the good rates were not available for my day. Anyway, based on price and availability I booked a non-smoking room at the Days Inn of Conway, AR. Right away I had some problems as I never received an email confirmation so I called the hotel and they said I had no reservation. So I called the toll free number and they also said I did not show up in their system, but they made the reservation right then. All is now fine I thought...

Their policy is to allow cancellation until 6:00 p.m. Unfortunately I could not get there until later so I was locked in for the room charge. This proved to be a bad thing...

When I arrived to the hotel after 7:30 p.m. I noticed that the big sign was not even turned on... The hotel looked pretty sketchy from outside. More like one of those places where they rent by the hour. But I went in anyway, the lobby was not too bad, well lit and fairly clean. The clerk was very friendly and polite and told me that I had reservations for 2 rooms! Apparently the initial online reservation went through after I made the phone reservation. Anyway, they took care of that right away and gave me my keys.

Right away I did not even like the parking lot. There were only a few cars/trucks in the whole place and some of the other "guests" looked pretty scary to me. When I opened the door to my room, I was practically knocked back by the smoke/mold/spray stench! I went back to the desk and explained to the clerk, she was really nice about it and went out with me to give me another room... The "non-smoking" designations are joke, or more appropriately a cruel hoax.

We opened and looked in at least 6 more "non-smoking" rooms before I found one that was tolerable. I took that room which was the best of the lot so far. I decided to bring all my camping gear out of the car as I thought the place to be unsafe. I did not want my car broken into and my stuff stolen.

The room was totally unappealing. The carpet was filthy and stained, same with the bed cover. The furniture was old, dirty and falling apart. I dreaded sitting or touching anything in the room.. There was a fly buzzing around the lavatory and I killed a suspicious looking bug on the bathroom floor. I was concerned about the possibility of bed bugs and took every measure I could think of to prevent them from coming home with me in the luggage or the camping gear I brought in. I ended up taking all the camping gear I could hide back to the car and hoped for the best.

It was with the utmost reluctance that I got in that bed. I so wish I had cancelled that reservation and went to a better place. I would have gladly paid double what I paid to get a clean room somewhere. As it turned out there were some very heavy rains and dangerous storms all night which probably kept anyone from breaking into my car and probably masked any noise from the other "guests".

Until they renovate this place completely, I do not recommend it to anyone. It is dirty and shabby and ill kept. I thought I got a good rate at $60, but it was not even worth that. How I wished I could have just pitched my tent somewhere and spent the night in comfort!

Room Tip: If you decide to stay there. Be sure to view a lot of rooms to choose the least disgusting.

“Not so good!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

My husband and I stayed in room 107 on August 9, 2011. The room was in dire need of a cleaning. The floor was so dirty we walked around with our socks and shoes on. The pool was a green soupy color. The tv reception did not come in very good at all so we ended up watching fuzzy shows. The air conditioner was old so it was very noisy. We were very tired that night so we just picked a place to spend the night. I wish we would have kept looking. The breakfast was a normal Days Inn breakfast. On the bright side the clerk did give us a discount on the room because it was a handicap accessible room. Would not stay there again.

“Thought I was at the Bates Motel....”

Booked online because it was one of the few hotels I could find in Conway, Arkansas with an outdoor pool. Oh they had a pool alright, I've attached a picture of the neon green area they described as a pool....disgusting, probably a body at the bottom. The umbrella and pool chairs were ripped and torn. The room was damp and the pillows had gross yellow stains inside the pillow cases. We left the room at 9:00 am and the maid was one room away from us. We returned at 4:00 pm and the room was still unmade....and when we contacted the front desk, the attendent merely laughed. The maid acted put out that she had to stop everything and come make up the room....You could smell smoke through the air conditioner from people standing outside our room (we were in a non-smoking room). They had replace a few of the televisions obviously with 32" flatscreens not our room) but left the packaging all over the premises and there was broken furniture outside of some room. The hardware on the dresser in our room was falling off....never ever again will I attempt a Days Inn.

“Not as good as last time.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

Under new management since last year maybe, because the desk help just wasn't as good. A/C and other features of the room were still nice. Just don't expect to be greeted by friendly staff.

“Clean & affordable for the budget traveler on the road”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2009

On our drive from west to east along I-40, my husband and I decided to make reservations near Little Rock for the night. After seeing the choices in and around Little Rock, we settled on the Days Inn in Conway. We called ahead for reservations, and they were happy to match the lowest price we found online for the room we wanted. We arrived very late, but the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was quite large, and very clean. The fan in the bathroom was loud, but that is a small quibble. I noticed no strong air freshener smell in our room, and did not hear anything through our walls during the night. The air conditioner was not too loud, and we slept quite well. Breakfast was only ok, but the Days Inn is near plenty of places to supplement your morning meal (we stopped at Einstein Bros across the street). For $55 we were very pleased with our stay, and would be happy to stay there again if passing through.
