“Clean, Decent older property”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

My daughter and I stayed at this property last night while in town to attend a Scholar's Day competition at Lyon College. We chose this hotel because the college paid for our room for one night and this is where they chose. It was an adventure for my daughter because I have neglected to share the adventure of a traditional "motel" with her in her 17 years. She was amazed that you could drive up to the door of your room. I have obviously neglected her education up until now. I was a little leery after reading reviews on tripadvisor, and had informed her that if we got to the room and it was sub-par, we would go next door to the Holiday Inn Express or the Comfort Suites and pay for a room ourselves. The price listed was $60. While this is obviously an older property, our room was clean and well-maintained. It smelled fresh and generous toiletries were provided. The beds were a little uncomfortable to my older body, but my daughter slept well and thought her bed was comfortable. The Wifi service worked flawlessly, and the room included a mini-fridge and a microwave, although I did not use either. We did not use the hotel restaurant, so I can't speak to it's quality, and I did not go to look at the pool or jacuzzi since it is January. For someone on a limited budget, it offered clean accommodations at a reasonable price. The entire town seemed quite safe.

My husband and I stayed at The Ramada Inn Batesville while visiting family for a funeral. The room was immaculate, well kept, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the price very reasonable. We will be returning to this hotel for future visits to the area.

“Bait and Switch Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

My family recently stayed at this hotel for a baseball tournament. I called the hotel and made reservations and was told one price. I checked in and was not told the price would be different than what I was told on the phone call. When I checked out I was charged a full $20 more per night! I talked to the mgr/owner who also owns the Holiday Inn across the street, and he told me there was nothing he could do. We were charged the higher price because of the tournament he had to charge the higher rate for "special occasions." Well, shouldn't he be aware of these special occasions before we check out? If he tells me one price, he ought to have to stick to that price since I have budgeted and made the decision to stay at his hotel based on his price quote. BEWARE OF THIS RAMADA INN BAIT AND SWITCH TACTIC!!! Never again!!!!!!

“Spend the Extra $20 for a Decent Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2011

It's not often that a hotel gets everything right or wrong during a hotel stay. This "hotel" scored a perfect 100 on the "how not to run a hotel" scale.

Check in was handled by a sour woman who you could tell would have rather been anywhere else in the world other than helping people check-in to this cesspool of a hotel.

The hallways sported filthy smelly carpeting which were complimented nicely by peeling wallpaper and scuff marks from years of maid service cart neglect.

The room was a complete disgrace. Worn our room carpeting, a lumpy uncomfortable bed that actually had springs poking through the inferior sheets. An old style 1985 comforter which was sporting some very lovely cigarette burns. I'd say that the in room desk, chair and ottoman were purchased from the Salvation Army but to be honest i don't even think it was that nice. The old style tube television picked up about 5 stations and had an odd blueish tint that made everyone look like Papa Smurf.

While the entire hotel appeared to be devoid of any life the bathroom certainly wasn't. Mold and mildew run the show in this smokey unventilated joke of a bathroom. The sink wasn't clean and had a large crack in it. Every time water entered the sink it dripped onto the filthy floor below. I suppose someone needs to inform the cleaning crew here at this Ramada that caulk contained in the bathroom tiles is supposed to be white and not black. There was so much mold that you could actually see it dripping down into the tub as you showered.

The advertised high speed internet was only a figment of their imagination. I had to use my Verizon card to log on and find somewhere to move for the remainder of my stay.

I wouldn't even think about eating the breakfast as the clowns that run this place more than likely scoop up the left over danish from thrift stores and buy their breakfast meat from people selling it door to door.

Description of hotel does not match our property.

Seems this review is a mistake.

Ours is an exterior corridor property and we do not have carpeted hallways.

Please come and check us out.

“Refreshing and Satisfying Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2011

I arrived late in Batesville and found this hotel as I came into the north side of town. I have had great luck with Ramada’s and followed the Red sign to the front door. Check in was flawless and friendly. They gave me a room on the back side of the hotel where I could drive right up to my door to unload. That was very nice being it was late at night. Inside the room it appeared as a brand new hotel. Clean and bright and I was surprised on how large the room was. The internet worked so well that before I knew it I was up past 1am on the laptop while enjoying the HDTV. In the morning the shower exhibited wonderful water pressure as I have not had in years. Sweet. The other reviews on this hotel are obviously out dated. Great rate and Great hotel. I will return. BTW – If you’re a parent consider this hotel has a large outdoor pool in a courtyard. Ask for a poolside room and you can keep your eye on them!
