“Do not eat here”

We were on our way to the Grand Canyon on Saturday afternoon. We were hungry and stopped here to eat because it was the only thing open and there is not much else nearby. We had the absolute worst fried chicken west of the Mississippi. I admit that our experience is based on a one-time visit; but, in all honesty, there will never be another. Should we ever find ourselves in the same situation, we'll go on north to Tusayan.

We did not go into the theme park area and have no opinion about that. The do have a kitschy type gift shop on the premises.

“It was unique”

I booked reservations online to stay here, as the Mather Campgrounds area to fit larger rigs was being renovated. The campground sits right off the main road and your not fenced in. When we first arrived we thought it kinda felt ghetto, not used to just camping right off the main drag. So we decided not to pull any of our camping equipment out...The caretaker of the campground made us feel welcome as many of the other campers did. After speaking to some of thoes folks we felt better about the place. It has a lot of nostaligia about the Flintstones. A wonderful gift shop on the premises and a cafe that offers 5cent coffee, by the way my husband and daughter raved about the coffee. The pool is across the street at a motel...In back is a Flintstone Amusement Park, that is a separate admission.....I would rate this place a 6 but with the funky but cool Flintstone Buildings and memoriabilla, I'll give it a 7.
