“Better than staying in a hotel & a very friendly host - Ron.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2010

We arrived to a friendly greeting by the Legacies' owner, Ron. As the only guests in this 4 room B&B we had plenty of room to relax in our room and out in the sitting room / balcony. Ron gave us good advice on a restaurant, Red Raven, where we enjoyed a pretty decent steak & a nice bottle of Pinot Noir wine. Thanks to Ron's advice to stop by the visitor center we even managed to save money on our Grand Canyon entry fee (you have to be age 62 or over to do this though) because we bought a lifetime pass to the National Parks - any National Park in the United States - and the lifetime fee is only $10 (valid only for US citizens or permanent residents).

If you're staying in Williams then you won't be sorry you stayed in Legacies B&B.

“Comfortable jumping off point for Grand Canyon Railway.”

Friendly atmosphere with ample services. Linda is an easy communicator with experienced suggestions. Minimal two-night stay is pushing it as Williams has little to offer other than 1st class rail service to the canyon and Rt. 66 loop through town ... a no-holds barred tourist trap if there ever was one! The town has friendly people, however, and boasts some diversified restaurants. If your visit to the canyon needs two or more days then the Legacy B&B is worth the price!

“Birthday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2009

Ron and Linda the Inn keepers were more than friendly and hospitable. When we arrived Linda was welcoming and inviting. When we were taken to our room (Route 66) we were amazed and impressed with modern decor and comfort along with the retro appearance of the room. We had no idea of what elegant dining options were available, Ron was kind enough to set a reservation for us at the Red Raven, which we also would highly recommend! The morning Breakfast included in our stay was delicious and made us feel right at home. There was nothing but luxury and comfort ; especially after a night out on the town, to return to our room and soak in the whirlpool tub. We'll be returning to this B&B soon to enjoy a stay in their Lagacies Suite, it's beautiful and Ron and Linda left a memorable impression in our life.

“OK B&B”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2008

We stayed at Legacies after spending two days in the Grand Canyon. We had difficulty finding the place since our confirmation email did not give directions - we called and were given easy to follow directions once we were in Williams. Legacies has all the charm that you would expect of a 1980s home, but is clean and nicely decorated. We stayed in The Virginian, a large room with a comfortable bed on the second floor. Breakfast was just OK - juice, fruit, two slices of French Toast and some bacon that was hard and dry (may have been turkey bacon that was microwaved). The owners are very gracious and gave us a good recommendation for dinner. If you are taking the Grand Canyon Railroad, this would be a decent place to stay. But for me, I would avoid Williams altogether otherwise and stay in Flagstaff instead.

“Overpriced and unfriendly”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2008

After staying two nights at a superb B&B in Twenty nine Palms, my husband and I eagerly looked forward to enjoying equal hospitality at Legacies B&B. Unfortunately this was not the case. On arrival (there is a uncompromising check in time of 4pm-6pm)we rang the bell only to be "greeted" by a curt nod of the head from the owner Linda. No smile in evidence at any time during our stay. Strict "instructions" were given as to what we were allowed to do - from the locking of the suite room to the heating. These were endosed by many post it notes around the room. If one had the idea to light the candles in the suite, dire warnings of a fee were to be noted! Obviousy past guests had in fact used said candles but I have no idea whether they were charged or forgiven!! To be fair the suite we booked (honeymoon suite, although it was our 30th annivesary!) was extremely clean with a large four poster type bed. Unfortunately, this was sited on a plinth which was a bit of a problem when visiting the bathroom during the night. Both nights had my husband and I falling down the step in the dark!!
Breakfast was not good and could only be taken at 8.30 on the dot. Self service tea/coffee facilities was available only at breakfast time, with our own tea bags as no English tea provided,When my husband asked for a clean mug at breakfast as none were available, he was given more pursed lip treatment from our hostess. Ron, the co owner seemed quite affable and gave advice when asked.
For just under $430 for two nights I would have expected a more friendly stay. We were lucky that 4 very nice Americans were also staying at the same time which helped the sterile atmosphere somewhat. I dont usually find fault but felt disappointed in Legacies.
