“Great value”

This was one of the better Motel 6s I've ever stayed at, and I'm surprised by some of the bad/average reviews. It was the middle of winter so that may explain why it was so clean. I could see it getting pretty beat up over the summer tourist season. As for the room it was quite spacious (not originally a Motel 6 for sure), clean, and the bed was comfortable enough. At a $31 rate it was a steal. Beats camping when it's 2 F outside.

“Just awful, not worth the small price tag”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

Asked for transfer to another room. We stayed for two nights and the room smelled like indian food the entire time (not from us). We also were not comfortable giving our children a bath in the bathtub as the enamel was cracked and chipping off. Both beds were terrible and we were able to feel springs poking us. Every time we watched the television and something white came on the screen it would distort and make a loud buzzing sound. My parents had a room down the hall which seemed like it had been updated a bit and was a little more reasonable. For the price I wasn't really expecting the Four Seasons but no one should pay to stay in this room. PS did I mention the hair in our bed and stained washcloth??

“Where's the Shampoo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2010

Motel 6 is not known for luxury but how about some shampoo, conditioner, and a blowe dryer? There was nothing given to us but a bar of soap. Also, the towels were thin and they gave us 2. The room was pretty dingy and the bathroom was that great with older tile. But it is right next to the Grand Canyon Railway. it was ok for a short stay to go on the train.

“Basic accomodation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

My wife and I stayed 2 nights here whilst on holiday from the UK and on a visit to the Grand Canyon. Not the best Motel 6 we stayed in,rather run down and in need of updating. Our room was clean ,with a confortable bed and a good shower,Staff were friendly and helpful. The other Motel6 at Williams just across the road looked more inviting.

“Clean and Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

We spent one night in a king "suite" at the Motel 6 Williams East, on a cross country drive where we were able to compare this Motel 6 with many others. This facility is one of the better ones, having a terrific location and being very clean.

Motel 6 Williams East is located at the end of Williams' Historic Route 66 area, a more attractive, better preserved historic Route 66 district than others we've seen. It is across the street from a Safeway, having a Starbucks inside, so you can easily get real coffee in the morning instead of the free dishwater that Motel 6s offer and restock your ice chest with supplies without going on a snipe hunt. Further, many quaint restaurants, including one that serves breakfast across the street, are located within walking distance. Williams is around 50 miles away from the Grand Canyon, a pleasant drive, and two miles off of I-40.

However, our stay was not without a hitch. The motel's computer reservation system was having problems and, having a confirmed reservation through the internet, I was surprised that they didn't have my reserved room available. The remedy was to upgrade us to a suite without an extra charge so, for us, it came out ok. However, I'd hate to think what our plight would have been if they truly had nothing available at all.

I'd stay here again, accepting Motel 6s for what they are, and recommend it to others.
