My wife and I ended out Central America trip with 4 nights at the Casa del Mundo. The people were amazing and the setting was beautiful. The meals were top notch and we will definitely be going back soon!

The better rooms are a little pricey for Guatemala but are worth every penny. After all it's still cheap compared to home

This is our fourth 3 month winter trip and this place ranks as one of the most special places we've stayed at anywhere in the world.

Apart from the lady on her wedding day, the few other reviewers that have ranked here as anything but excellent should stick to Hiltons & Marriots in future. This is the best.

I have been to La Casa del Mundo several times over the past few years and this is definitely one of my favorite places in the world. The hotel is thoughtfully designed and the views of the lake and volcanoes from the rooms, terraces, and balconies are just stunning. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly, accommodating, and professional. The food is also delicious (and so are the smoothies!), and I have had wonderful conversations with fellow travelers at the communal dinner table.

My now-husband and I love this place so much that we decided to plan our wedding at La Casa del Mundo. It was a fantastic venue and we are VERY happy we got married there just a few weeks ago! Ivan, the general manager, is competent, patient, flexible, and a great person to work with. We had nearly 40 guests travel to Lake Atitlan for the celebration, and Ivan helped us coordinate all of our wedding arrangements and secure in-country transportation for our guests. Once we all got to the hotel, staff greeted us at the dock and helped bring everyone’s luggage up the stairs to people’s rooms. After everyone got settled, we all began to enjoy the magic of this venue. The atmosphere is friendly and induces relaxation, and there are so many places to sit, talk, read, nap, and enjoy the views. The hotel staff helped people arrange day trips to towns around the lake and worked with us to coordinate a welcome dinner for everyone. The water in the lake was very high while we were there (and that weekend it was quite windy), but many of us still went swimming. The balconies offer fun jumping spots!

The wedding itself was really, really beautiful. La Casa del Mundo (and of course Lake Atitlan) are naturally beautiful, but the staff did many thoughtful things to enhance the venue’s beauty for our ceremony and reception – from flower arrangements full of bright calla lilies to elegantly designed centerpieces and a traditional Guatemalan pine rug under our feet at the ceremony. The candle-lit reception was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the post-dinner dance party was lots of fun. We loved every part of our wedding experience and are grateful to the staff for helping make this important life event so memorable for us and our family and friends.

La Casa del Mundo is a truly fantastic place to visit and an excellent wedding venue. I can’t say enough good things about our experiences with Bill and Rosie (the owners), Ivan, and the entire hotel staff – they are incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and competent. I strongly encourage you to experience the magic of this hotel. I can’t wait to go back.

I loved my experience at Casa Del Mundo. The staff was warm and welcoming, the food was delicious and the location was absolutely stunning. We stayed for only a few days for our friends' beautiful wedding. Our room faced the lake and brought in great sunlight. I would definitely go back here.
