“horrible staff”

Booked online for two nights. First night was good, second night was nightmare with ahole staying above us stomping all night. Called the front to complain, didn't help they still kept us up til 1 am with noise. Staff claimed to have called, but that is all they did and told us we shoud have went and knocked on their door and told them to shut up, yet the hotel manager told me this... it was shocking. No apology from her or discount for a horrible night sleep nothing, we will NOT stay here again. Don't let the outside fool you! It is all nice & modern looking on the outside, but inside the carpet is worn, walls nasty, bathrooms cheap and poorly done, cheaply constructed hotel with paper thin walls and floors.. you hear everyone above above and beside you. Service is horrible too, desk clerk and hotel manager are rude and have no clue what customer service should be.. Save your $ go elsewhere!!
Room has tv and mini-fridge only. Hotel desk clerk hotel had NO microwave on property... really in 2011-2012 none.. so our experience here was NOT up to par with typical Holiday Inn experiences or not what most expect while paying $101 a night in off season. = rip off
I will drive the 30 miles to another town before I stay here again. Not worth it.
Everything in town shuts down at 5pm except for saloons, so think about that too; dead town at night for sure. And the food in the saloons are suckage, they know you are a tourist and don't care about quality.

“Holiday Inn Express - Tombstone”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We booked a 2 bedroom suite through Expedia in November for a 2 night stay at the end of December 2011...we paid in advance to get the slightly discounted rate.
We arrived and they told us the hotel only has one 2 bedroom suite and it was unavailable because it was being renovated from an August 2011 storm...we arrived December 29, 2011...how long does it take to reno/fix one hotel room?

I asked why they would allow a room to be booked (and paid for) that was unavailable?
They claim it's not their fault, it's Expedia's fault and they couldn't do anything about it.
I suggested that they notify Expedia that the 2 bedroom suite is no longer available so they stop booking it and they seemed uninterested and that it kept saying wasn't up to them....not sure how that process works, but I would think the onus is on the hotel to let Expedia know when a room is no longer available.

After some complaining they offered us a second room for an additional $100/night...we had already paid $250 a night. We declined, I didn't think we should have to pay more money. They weren't willing to credit us on the $250/night room so why would we give them more money?

The hotel had a continental breakfast with some additional warm items, but all 3 mornings we were there they ran out of stuff and were almost taking the cutlery out of your hand to get you out of there right at 10.

We were there 2 nights/3 days and housekeeping didn't come once..when we told the front desk she said "ok, I'll give her hell when I see her"...we asked if we could have the room cleaned and were told no, there's only one girl that cleans and she was already gone home.

the staff wasn't very friendly or helpful, the only reason we stayed there was because it was a newer hotel, but newer is not always better.

“Thank you Holiday Inn Express-Tombstone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

we spent 12/23-27/2011 in Yuma helping Mom & Pop out. decided we would spend time in Tombstone. so we headed out on what is actually a looonng drive. by the time we got to Tombstone we were truly tired. thinking(or not) that people would be at home thru the holidays(like us), we made no calls or reservations. we got to the reception area thinking we were all set...WRONG! first ?,"reservations". there was no room at the inn for us. and we saw no signs of a manger anywhere! these adorable women went to work immediately to locate ANY room that could be available for even one night. and they found one. it was a miracle as far as we were concerned. the room was clean, smelled good, double beds meant i could watch tv as husband didn't really have to. everything worked well. had several pillows on each bed and beds were totally comfortable. bathroom was separate with door which is appreciated. well lit parking area. we enjoyed a light breakfast before we ventured into town to enjoy the day. we were just pleased as punch with this hotel.

Room Tip: we had no choice in rooms which was our own fault...but i would find out where the children are stay...

“Stay uptown, newer is not always better.”

Prepaid our stay through Expedia 3mnth in advance, upon arrival they would not honor reservation. Called Expedia and they confirmed we were pd, in the AM upon check out they tried to chg us again. Very shady, beware, check & double check. Room was smelly, staff was rude, breakfast was great which was about it. Talked to numerous folks staying downtown with much better results. newer dose not mean better, book somewhere else!

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

“creepy town during offseason, hotel is normal though”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

hotel was nice, it was being worked on at the time due to damage from a bad storm, but thats understandable. it was very basic, clean, and the staff were very nice. tombstone was creepy not in a ghost way, but in a creepy locals way. they werent mean, but werent very nice either. They all starred and wondered what our purpose was. the next day however, it was fine. the bar workers and the workers in the tourist industry were nice and extremely helpful. overall it was worth stopping. The hotel is a good quality place for a decent price.

Room Tip: the rooms are okay, you shouldnt have any problems
