We've been going to Tombstone twice a year since 2003. We stayed in the John Wayne Room at the Tombstone Sagebrush Inn our very first time because my husband is a big John Wayne fan. What a GREAT experience - we've stayed there ever since.
The owner, Sue, is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about what to see and do in Tombstone and the surrounding area. There is ample parking at the motel, the hot tub and pool are excellent, morning coffee is always provided and one of the nice touches to me is that every room and "The Outhouse" have a nice selection of books to read.
Don't expect some glitzy new "box" motel. If you're looking for new, try some place else. But if you like historic, clean, comfortable and friendly, this is the place. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen area (for those rooms having one) have a stove (no oven), microwave, coffee-maker, full-sized fridge, table setting for 4 and sink. The bathrooms are small, but then, in the 1940's when it was built, that was the style. Our room has a very spacious jacuzzi tub which comes in handy after walking the dusty streets of Tombstone.
And that's another plus for this motel - unlike the new chain motels in Tombstone, this one is within walking distance of all of the restaurants, bars and history of Tombstone. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!
