“Home away from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2007

This is home away from home. Very clean, and with all the ammenities you need as a business traveler or tourist. If you're a tourist however, there isn't much nearby to see or walk to so make sure you have a rental car. But for the price, and location near five different highways, it is a good choice for the traveler that needs to be centrally located (more toward the east side), Sky Harbor, ASU, and the Tempe industrial park. The hotel is not exactly on a well traveled street, so bring a map or use an auto GPS if you aren't familiar with the tempe area.

THE GOOD:
Hotel room was very clean, medium size, comfortable bed, with great ammenities (fridge, microwave, small kitchen, large color tv, iron and board, mirrors, good phone, desk, couch, coffee table, and good wireless Internet). rate was very good (Priceline), and location is very close to five different highways (I-10, I-60, hwy 143, hwy 202, 101 loop).

THE BAD:
Parking can get tight if you return late at night. Otherwise, this place is hard to fault.

CONCLUSION:
Safe bet. Would reccomend to my friends, family, and business associates.

“A reunion weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2007

Thanksgiving weekend. Hotel very empty. Room could have been cleaner, but ok. Not much to do in the industrial park neighborhood. But would be a great place for Spring Training at Diablo Stadium. At $28 a night I loved it.

  • Liked — Price, nearby to my HS reunion at Rustler's Rooste.
  • Disliked — TV, cable reception was poor
  • Tips/Secrets — get a high floor to reduce noise from other guests; creaky floors.

“Lovely Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2005

We stayed at this lovely Homestead Suites hotel for our visit to the Phoenix/Tempe area. It was everything I could have hoped for in a suite hotel: clean and comfortable rooms, well-appointed kitchen, good service, nice grounds. It took me a little while to find the place, as it isn't on a main street, but once I found it, it was easy to get back to again. I found it very reasonably priced for everything we received.

As one previous reviewer said, it's a perfect "home away from home." It's an excellent choice for travelers visiting Arizona State University and/or the Tempe area. We'd definitely stay here again.

“Good Bargain For What I Needed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2005

First off, I got this property through Priceline, so it was a bit of a bargain for me. Once I had gotten notification that my bid was accepted, I realized that there was a potential for only having one queen bed (I needed either 2 beds or a sofa sleeper) and I wasn't given a preference for smoking/non-smoking. I called the property roughly 2 weeks before my arrival and asked for the queen plus sleeper sofa and a non-smoking room. I got exactly what I had asked for. The room was nice, fairly spacious, and very clean. The kitchen and bathroom were spotless. I got the sleeper sofa, and I have slept on better, but it served its purpose. The communal areas were nicely decorated and clean. The staff were helpful and efficient. My only complaints were that: 1.) we were on the ground floor right by the pool, and at night I slept with the window open. It was very noisy from some sort of electrical equipment running all night. (The hotel's air conditioning, perhaps??) However, I think if the window had been closed, this would have been less noticeable. And 2.) this property is really not very close to restaurants and other services. Everything was a bit of a drive. However, the hotel is very close to the freeway (without the freeway noise!). I would recommend this property to others and would not hesitate to stay here again - even if I had to pay full price.

“Seen better:”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2004

Just came back from the "valley of the sun" and I was disapointed with the Homestead Suites. The rooms were very small, the walls and floors were paper thin. I have stayed at other so-called suites and this property is not a suite. They advertised that they served breakfast, but that never happened. Jae at the front desk was very helpful, but I will go back to the Spring Hill Suites, the next time I am out in the valley.
