“A Lovely Easy To Access Hotel In Tempe Phoenix”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I stayed 4 nights at this property in January 2012, looking at other reviews I asked for a Large Poolside Room, and this was given for a $5 a night upgrade fee (I had booked a cheap Priceline rate).

The room was excellent, great bed, couch arewa and work desk, overlooking the heated outdoor pool, althoug hthe resort was fairly full it was always quiet and relaxed, both the front desk staff and houskeeping did everything to make the stay comfatable, room was always cleaned quickly and efficiently,

THe heated Pool was lovely and big enough for a good swim, the large spa tub could do with a bit of maintenance as some tiles are missing, but it worked fine and was good to use.

I was really happy and suprised with this property, and have added it to my list of definatly stay again properties when in the area.

If you book this hotel you will not be dissapointed

Room Tip: Ask for a Large Poolside Room, May be a $5 a night upgrade fee but well worth it.

“Sour Stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

The rooms however, the most important part, have outside free air entrances, they are exposed to outside noise on both sides, and are tacky. Mine had a spicy smell to it that I think was left over from a previous guest. The heater is on one side of room and bathroom is on opposite side making it very cold in winter. TV was modern but a bit small, and there is a shortage of plug ins, one will need to unplug lights to recharge your goodies. The place is aging and unimpressive, and bathroom had a light out over the shower, you had to feel yourself to know what body part you were washing but didn't report the issue. I used a name your price site to book it as a 3.5 star. I got it for 80 bucks, If your expecting an 80 dollar hotel, maybe not bad, but if you are hoping for a courtyard, or hilton garden for your 80 dollar 3.5 star bid, think again. I have found that 3.5 star is code for a place that offers room service for a fee, nothing else. The place should put up a motel 6 or econolodge sign since thats that you are getting.

Room Tip: Best tip is to stay somewhere else. On nighht of arrival stayed at Sleep Inn airport and booked thro...

“Too Noisy!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Recent stay was disappointing after reading positive reviews. I found the room to be satisfactory, but very noisy! You can hear everything from doors slamming, outside activities, rolling carts, traffic noise & parties!! During my two night stay the hotel hosted 1 wedding and 1 Quincenera with many attendees. If noise doesn't bother you, this is the place for you! Great potential, what a shame!

“Fiesta Resort to the rescue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

After American Airlines trashed what was supposed to be our first night in Maui, we instead wound up with another airline and an overnight in Phoenix, with a lodging voucher that put us at the Fiesta Resort. The place was nearly empty and the few staffers who were there probably had a lot of time on there hands, so that may account in part for the attentive service--but attentive and charming it was, from the chatty van driver to the smart, funny front desk person (who also doubled as the room service person because the cafe was within moments of closing when we we placed our order).
The hotel was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright--common areas have lots of modernist stained glass, beautiful ceramic tile etc. The room was spacious and very comfortable. (And I'm pretty sure the bed was amazing, but honestly, I was so exhausted after a long frustrating day that I probably could have gotten a good night's sleep on a bed of broken glass.) As with most older properties, the bathroom was just OK--if you are girthy, you may find the toilet/tub area claustrophobic.

“This is NOT a resort. It's just a Hotel with a heated pool”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

So if you are really thinking you are going to a resort you will be very disappointed. In the last 3 years we have been to 7 resorts from Marriott to Hilton and they all have different positives and negatives but at the end of the day I would consider them all resorts. This place just has a heated pool and a bunch of trees around it and think they can call it a resort. Net net, if you are expecting a real resort you will be disappointed.

The good:

We got a good price on the room
The beds were really nice and comfortable
Had a nice TV

The Bad:

The property must be like 30 - 40 yeas old so it looks really worn out
The room was dark and had very little light
As with all the old properties it did not have enough power outlets (they even had a power strip used to plug in a bunch of their stuff, like TV, coffee maker and other)
The place i set up like a Red Roof Inn. Meaning all the rooms are accessible from the parking lot. To me that's a safety issue considering some of the business in the area put bars on the window.
The bathroom reflects it's age and their shower curtain was ridiculous and water always dripped onto the bathroom floor no matter how careful we were. Had to dry with towels every time someone showered.

Overall I would not stay here again if I had a choice unless I get it for under $50.
