I booked a room at this hotel on expedia.com it was on sale for only $38.00 a night. I was up in Tempe for a big music festival with my friend. We werent planning on being in the room much and bascially just needed a place to sleep. We got into town a little early so we went ahead and checked in.Thank goodness we didnt just check in at midnight after the concert like planned. When checking in, the office smelled like smoke and seemed pretty dirty for a lobby. When driving to find our room, there was a dirt lot in the back with half put together single wide trailers. My friend and I had a chuckle about it, and even the fact that our room had no numbers on the door just marks from the dirt where the numbers used to be. Im a very clean person, but in this situation we werent expecting much and it just seemed like it would be a funny story to add to our fun night. When entering the room it was out dated, smelled odd and tiles were missing on the floor. I made a joke that we should check our beds, because at midnight we probably wouldnt care so to make sure they were safe now. When pulling back the blankets my friend found a small grey bug on the pillow, and I found 4 BIG BLACK ANTS under the sheets at the foot of thr bed. GROSS! We were out of there I can handle somethings when on a dime budget but that is crossing the line! We went to the front office to get a refund. The manager behind the desk was rude he said we didnt check in only a few mintues earlier because he was there all afternoon, when I told him a woman checked me in he shurgged like "shoot you caught me! I wasnt here the whole time". He then acted like it was silly we didnt want to stay there. He offered us another room, but added that the exteminator has been coming out weekly but ants keep showing up everywhere. He also added that it is just that time of year. Thats funny I have grow up in AZ my whole life and I have NEVER had bugs in my bed? We told thanks, but NO THANKS. It was a hassle to get a refund, I even had to call Expedia and sit on the phone while they talked to him. Anyways it was a pain and a waste of time. We winded up staying across the street at Super 8. It was only $14 more and a MILLION times better! It was super clean, updated, and NO BUGS! Remember just because you need a cheap place to stay dosent mean you should sleep in a DUMP! You would be better off sleeping in your car than there!
