“Convenient lcoation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

This hotel was a perfect place to stay when needing to be close to the airport. We stayed here the night before a very early flight and it was just what was needed. Free breakfast buffet in the morning, though it does not start until 6. They did have everything set out before 6 when we were leaving, so we were able to grab a quick bite to eat.

They do offer shuttle service...but check with the hotel for times. They run every 1/2, which is good...but before 7 am, there is only one shuttle for this hotel and another, so the time to get to the airport can be a bit longer. Just make sure you ask at check in if you are needing that service.

Though this is by the airport..I did not notice any extra noise to take away from a good night's sleep.

“Great Stay with Kids!”

This hotel was GREAT for our one night stay while in the Scottsdale area having a 2 day shopping marathon! We needed a big enough room for our family (3 children - 10, 13, 16) without paying a lot, and without being cramped! We booked through Marriott.com and got a rate of $84 with our AAA discount. The room was clean, and spacious. We did hear the airplanes, as we were on the top floor. It was NOT disturbing in any way! The beds were comfy and we all slept great! The lobby was nice, and the breakfast area was large, and looked very nice too. We actually slept through breakfast. :( We were traveling with another family and all the kids were able to swim for a couple of hours that evening, the pool was heated! They had a blast! Gotta love Phoenix in January! The receptionist was very sweet. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, maybe ask for a floor in the "middle" to hear less airplane no...

“Overall good hotel, minor problem.”

I like to stay close to the airport when I am going to depart the next day. The hotel is situated precisely n the final approach course to Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. I was on the first floor. I checked in around 8:00 pm and noted aircraft landing Phoenix directly over the hotel about 200 feet above the building. Despite all that, the hotel must be soundproofed better than average because once I was in my room I didn't hear a thing. The same may not be said for those on the upper floors. The only issue with the room was the outlets built into the lamp by the desk. These things have been used so much that nothing will stay plugged into them. They need to be replaced with new ones. Of course there ae other ones I used to charge the iPad and Blackberry, so not a problem. Working with a PC at the desk would have posed problems however.

“Nice little surprise...highly recommend for your airport hotel needs in Phoenix”

On a recent trip to Scottsdale for a conference, we extended our trip by heading up to Sedona for a couple of days.

With a 6 am flight home out of Sky Harbor we were looking for an overnight hotel near the airport so we didn't have to drive in from Sedona in the middle of the night to catch our flight. Were looking for a hotel that provided airport shuttle service to avoid the nightmare of returning our car to the wacky car rental center at Sky Harbor so early the morning of departure (sorry but I find the rental return center very difficult to find when returning cars - signage is horrible JMO).

We settled on this Springhill Suites property and could not have been more pleased. The property did not just meet our expectations but exceeded them. It was a very pleasant experience...the front desk clerk (Roy or Ray?) was so helpful, and just so nice. When we checked in we made a shuttle reservation for our very early morning flight and Roy/Ray volunteered to go ahead and enter a wake up call for us...which was just a nice touch.

Shuttle drivers were both very pleasant and helpful - we used shuttle twice - once in the evening when we returned our car and the next morning. Shuttle service is avaible to area restaurants for dinner - just call after dinner for a return pick up - there are no restaurants within walking distance of hotel..

The hotel is very very clean and well maintained. Our room was exactly what we were looking for and so clean and well kept - we were impressed. The furnishings were in excellent shape, the bathroom was well stocked and clean. There is a small sitting area and a wet bar with a wall divider between the sitting area and sleeping area. Room was quite and bed was completely comfortable and when that 3;30 am wake up call came, I didn't want to get up :).

Easy to find and access off of the interstate...even if you are unfamiliar with the area - a couple of calls to the hotel and Roy/Ray got us there safely and easily from Sedona. Business center in the lobby with 2 computers and printers available complimentary. Was able to print board passes with no problem and check emails. They provide a nice breakfast but we unfortunatley left too early to take advantage. A couple checking in at the same time used the pool and hot tub and later told us it was very nice as well however, we didn't even go out to the pool area.

For a limited service hotel you can't go wrong. Highly recommend this hotel.

“Unremarkable/random”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Nothing to complain about, but also nothing to exclaim. Could be anywhere.
Boss booked it for the Marriott points, but surely there's somewhere more interesting to stay.
Acceptable when "good enough" will do.
