“Nice if you can handle the noise”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I read reviews before I booked this hotel and it sounded pretty decent. I stayed here because of convenience and price. I travel almost a lot for business and have a pretty good idea of what I can get for this kind of money. The rooms were great. Clean, probably renovated not that long ago. The showers were nice, beds comfy, and they give you a lot of freebies, so not a horrible deal.

It was the noise that got me. They gave me a room all the way in the back of the hotel so I thought I would be ok being away from the main road. Not true. When I got to my room, there was somebody doing some maintenance and I couldn't even hear my tv over the power equipment, but I figured that wouldn't last too long, which it didn't. It was already after 8pm and it seemed that someone was checking into rooms near me every 5 or 10 minutes. Or maybe it was one big group - hard to tell. I could hear every sound! Talking, kids yelling, car lock beeps, suitcases rolling across the floor. This went on for at least a couple of hours. I was on the first floor so the cars were almost right outside my door and it seemed so were all the people. When I peeked outside, no one was there so apparently all those people were either next to me or above me but they sounded like they were right outside my door. I ended up having to stick cotton in my ears and put a pillow over my head to get to sleep.

If you stay here, I would recommend you ask for a room away from the parking to the interior of the facility. If you can get away from the noise, you might be ok. But it is a poor design to have the floors designed with tile because everytime someone walks by with a suitcase, you can hear the thump-thump, etc, etc, etc, etc ,etc. You get my point.

Room Tip: Stay away from the parking areas! You can hear everything.

“Old, dirty, scary”

This hotel was terrible. It is situated next to a strip club and the Waffle House, and this reflected in much of the clientele at the hotel. The room smelled musty but, after being followed and "propositioned" on the way to my room, I was afraid to open doors or windows. I travel frequently with work, but this trip to AZ was on my own dime for 9 days of school, so I wanted to save some money. In all of my travels, I have never been afraid in my hotel. I was afraid here. I left after the first night, and when they refused to reimburse me for my prepaid nights (nearly $450) I called American Express to contest the charges. This is not a 2.5 star hotel. Stay away.

“Very Nice Hotel for Location and Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We live in southern AZ and came up for a concert, so took advantage of the internet price and stayed the night before heading home. It's across the street from the AZ Mill Mall and several nice places to eat are within minutes drive. We were in a king sized bed room, with jetted tub, and a full size refrigerator. The sheets were some of the softest we have ever experienced. The morning breakfast was very nice with freshly scrambled eggs, meat, potatoes, cut fruit, and three waffle irons! The pool looked inviting, but in Dec we didn't bring suits... there were some kids in there so it was probably warmed. We've been coming to this hotel (and ones in Tucson) since the mid-90's and can see that the management is making an effort to renovate the rooms. We love the outside corridors with strange stairs and corners to explore.

“Great Service and Nice Friendly Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

We stayed here two nights. The price was $59.00 online. I reserved two queen beds and when I arrived, the staff told me it was a smoking room. I asked for non-smoking so they upgraded me to a executive suite free of charge for the mix-up. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was nice except for the couch was a little on the bad side. Enjoyed the free breakfast and the free happy hour! Over all one of the better hotels for the location, because you are with in walking distance to the Arizona Mills Mall and good food.

Room Tip: Get an executive suite. Worth the cost.

“Convenient Location, Older Building”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

We stayed one night here on our way down to Tucson. The place is across from the Arizona Mill Mall with the traffic lights directly across the entrance...pretty convenient. Our suite was spacious with 2 large screen TVs to view. The building is an older one and the renovation work is quite shoddy. The room had a musty smell and the furniture is older. However the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was plentiful and the price we paid was pretty fair. I won't stay there for a holiday but for a one nighter, it wasn't bad.
