“So-so. Nothing great, nothing terrible”

Pros:
* Great location, across the street from ASU. Easy walk to the Mill Avenue area for meals and nightlife.
* While it is on a somewhat busy street, I didn't notice any traffic noise from my room.
* Lobby area is recently remodeled, with a lot of seating and TV sets (and a bar as well).
* Shuttle to and from the airport.
* Easy to access Wi-Fi. Speeds were good, since I was able to do voice chat with my kids back home.

Cons:
* Looks like the remodeling of the rooms is a work in progress. My room had some worn down furniture and the mattress had to be 10+ years old. I didn't have a solid night's sleep during the trip.
* No spa, only a pool. Big disappointment for our group.
* Breakfast was not included in the room rate, but was offered. However, for $10, we had better options elsewhere.
* The TV reception in the room was spotty. Most channels were fuzzy, others didn't come in at all.
* I had hoped for a mini fridge (and possibly a microwave) in the room, but I didn't have them.

There are some other hotels in the area, and I think I will try something new next time.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the pool - you will get a balcony. And I would recommend avoiding the first f...

“Amazing rooms & amenities at reasonable prices”

Recently, my sister and I had the pleasure of enjoying this fine establishment on a trip to Tempe. We came for just a few short days in order to visit the ASU campus. From the outside, the Four Points Tempe seems like your average business travelers hotel, offering the most basic services at a minimal cost. However, behind this facade of low cost minimalism lie the friendly service and generous amenities one would expect at a five star resort. The rooms were immaculately clean and stylish. The hotel is in a prime location for those wishing to experience the Tempe area. Mill Avenue and the ASU campus are a short walk away. For those who do not wish to walk, the complimentary hotel shuttle service is a wonderful alternative. The shuttle (and its friendly driver, Bob) was always there, whether we needed to be picked up from the airport, or taken back to the hotel after a late dinner on Mill Avenue. The complimentary breakfast was delightful. While we expected the obligatory stale pastries and watered down orange juice encountered at most hotels of this kind, we could not have been more wrong. Made to order pancakes, omelettes, and French toast abound, served by a kind and efficient staff who truly care about keeping the guests happy. Overall our experience was wonderful. We can't wait to return to experience the comfortable rooms, delectable breakfast buffet, and friendly staff that make this hotel truly a gem in the Tempe area.

“free internet very slow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

This is a nice hotel, but the free internet is the slowest I have ever experienced-- it was like mud trying to get anything to download or upload. If you are more than a casual user of the internet and need it for business graphics, etc., beware!

“Fine business hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

The location is nothing special, in a nondescript section of Tempe adjacent to the University. One can easily walk to the university from here and even reach the restaurant section of town. The staff was very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.

“Were we all staying at the same place?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

I double checked the address and yes, we are all reviewing the same place.

I stayed at the Sheraton Four Points 2 different bookend nights before heading to and returning from a trip to the Grand Canyon. Both of my rooms appeared to be newly remodeled – very clean, updated décor, fresh carpet, kind of a “high style” bathroom with a huge barn door style door that slid sideways to open and close.

Perhaps some of the other reviewers stayed in rooms that have not yet been remodeled.

I thought the room was great – but some might not like the sliding bathroom door. My first room only had a shower (fine with me). My second room had a tub with shower.

I had trouble with the air conditioning – when I turned up the temperature the heat came on. It was 100 plus degrees outside and I did not need heat. I called the front desk and the maintenance man promptly came up and explained that the digital thermometer is really sensitive –I should just adjust it a degree or 2 at a time. I’ll keep that in mind for future stays at hotels with this type of control.

The lobby of the hotel was nice, fresh, clean.

Breakfast was served in a little area in the lobby. They had a good buffet with the option to order eggs, French toast, and pancakes. The buffet had fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, etc…plenty of options. I ordered the French toast both mornings!

With a lot of people eating at the same time, the servers had to scramble to keep up with drink orders and special requests – but I can understand that. It would see them could put out some orange juice so we could help ourselves – but I did notice space was tight. The servers were very accommodating when several of us asked them to fill our water bottles in preparation for a long bus ride.

Yes, the halls are really long; the hotel is bigger than what I would have expected from outside. I used the hotel’s free shuttle to and from the airport and have no complaints about it.

The first weekend I was there, the hotel was full of folks coming to see a college football game – the hotel is next to the campus. My room was not ready on time, but it wasn’t really that much of an inconvenience to me. The staff gave us a free bottle of cold water. Another bottle of water - complimentary - was in the room.

I would stay here again. I give it a 5 because I liked the spacious, clean rooms, the food was good, I felt safe.

Room Tip: You might ask if all of the rooms have been remodeled based on other reviews here.
