Stayed there 3 nights with my husband. It was a good location for us as we needed to be in Surprise and Sun City West to be with friends however didn't get to visit friends in Scottsdale because of distance and did not realize the City had growen that much since I was there 5 years ago. Scottsdale was a good 1 1/2 hours away. However with an early mornig fight out we did move down closer to the airport which worked out a lot better. The staff was very nice but made the reservation to stay by the airport and booked us on the wrong day. Breakfast was okay. There is a great bistro next door ate there 2 nights and lunch one day and brunch. It is only open a couple of months old so everything is new and nice.

I chose to stay here because most of what I wanted to do in the Phoenix area this trip was in the Sun City and Glendale area. This hotel was good ,as are all Hampton Inns I have stayed at. The desk personnel were very helpful, and they had a good breakfast downstairs each morning.

The only concerns I can mention are: the TV set kept mysteriously resetting back to the 'Welcome' channel and at a default high volume level, happened about once an hour. But it had dozens of TV channels. There was also high speed wireless internet in the room, with an ethernet plug in the wall (and a cord in the room) if your computer doesn't have wifi.

I could occasionally hear a train horn from the tracks that run along Grand Ave (US-60). I don't know how busy that track is, and I only heard trains 3 times during my 2 night stay.

Lots of eateries nearby, there's a Denny's restaurant and an Albertson's market within walking distance. The room had a small microwave and fridge.

The hotel is on Grand Ave (US-60) and is 7 miles from the 101 freeway. Route 303 is much closer and isn't a freeway yet but will be someday. You're about 25 miles from downtown Phoenix, but once you're at the freeway you are minutes from anywhere.

The Hampton Inn is in a great location, very close to the Surprise Recreation Campus and surrounded by great restaurants. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast and free high speed internet. They also help with wedding planning. The building outside and in is aesthetically pleasing, modern, and clean. The lobby is gorgeous and has a large television.

The Hampton was great. New, clean, quiet. Pool was clean and open. Service was good.
